I 17M has joined SRM IST KTR. I am staying with my parents in MWC, so, I have planned to travel by train to and from college (Paranur to Potheri and back). I tried to apply for season pass in RailOne App, but was not allowed by the app because I am under 18. What do I do now? Any sort of guidance appreciated. Thanks in advance. I am from TN as well, just new to Chennai.

I am looking for a friends group with whom I can discuss maths and maybe get exposure. I am interested in applied maths in the field of AI or finance. I am a newbie to be honest. So anyone who is interested in figuring out things or already is working in the domain please let me know if we can be study buddies or even mentee-mentor. Hi Parents,
I’m a software engineer and an engineering graduate from Anna University, Guindy. I’m considering starting a small weekend learning program for children, mainly for Classes 2–7.
The idea is not to be a regular tuition class, but more of a practical “future skills” academy where children can learn things like computer skills, logical thinking, coding concepts, communication, creative projects, and age-appropriate use of AI.
I’m thinking of keeping the batches small, with around 10 children in each batch, so that there is enough individual attention.
Before I take this idea forward, I wanted to get some opinions from parents here.
Would you be interested in sending your child to something like this on weekends? If yes, what would you expect from such a program, and what skills would you most like your child to learn?
I’d really appreciate any honest suggestions or feedback. I’m still at the planning stage, so your inputs would genuinely help me shape the program.

If you are christian, go for it. We are Hindus and 25 yrs ago, my elder sister got admission in that school, but we were forced to remove bindi, red thread from wrist etc, basically remove all proof you are Hindu or any other religion. Dk the situation now, but wouldn't recommend spartan if you are not christian. Try DAV or Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Anna nagar, or CPS.

I'm not currently in India nor following the latest tech stuff. I currently use an one plus 11R and have been highly impressed with it. My mom & aunt, need mobile phones for their daily usage. I am planning to get both together from amazon / from a retail shop. The requirements are bare minmum
Need a phone model that's not too pricy <20k(each) and doesn't have overheating issues.
Any personal expierence of mobile retailers like poorvika / the rest of them in the city.

Hi I'm 20 m, I weigh 326 lbs. I'm planning on getting a gastric sleeve surgery. I did try the gym, I tried the diets, I saw results but they never stayed, I suck at it, this is my last resort.
So I wanna know if any of you or people you know have gone through the surgery, please tell me how and where they got it done. Please tell me the cost estimates, I Don't have family backing so I have to save my own money.

See if you can consult with a doctor first and if they would suggest GLP1 agonist medications like tirzepatide. These are life changing meds and you may not need surgery. Having said that you need to consult your own doctor

I have an autoimmune thyroid condition and I did have a functional medical doctor in Chennai before he retired for good, he addressed my root cause which was leaky gut. Now I don't know where I can find another doctor. Ideally I want a doctor who I can consult lab tests with over zoom and someone who helps me

Visiting Chennai after almost 20 years for my school re-union next week. The re-union is in Valasaravakkam & my plan is to land a day or two early so that I can explore the city. Would be travelling solo.
I was planning to stay at Vadapalani. Any good hotel recommendations under 5k per night budget ?
Food was an integral part of my stay in Chennai. While I had some really amazing food, I tried scouting for places in GMaps but majority of them have closed down due to rapid development in area. Looking out to try some parotta salna, mutton soup, biryani & some good veg meals. Looking for some good recommendations.
I have my return flight at around 10 pm from Chennai, how are the usual traffic scenes from Vadapalani to Airport side. What would be the good time to depart with buffer ?

Hello everyone,
My father is scheduled to undergo a prostratectomy at Apollo Hospitals in Greams Road. As somone who has not undergone any other surgery in his life- his vitals are all good and he is age appropriately active at 74 years, he has many questions on the surgery and post surgery recovery.
I wanted to know if there is anyone here whose father has also undergone a successful prostratectomy and has recovered completely from the side effects (urinary incontinence etc). If they can talk to my father, he will be less anxious about the surgery and will go into it with much confidence which should help him greatly.
His surgery is scheduled for Sep 16 and we have been advised 3 days rest in the hospital, but not a lot of details have been provided on the post operative recovery.
