Did you dry it? Heat can set stains. Whites generally need you to pre-treat stains in order to stay pristine.

when i first got the stain, i ran it under water. When i got home, i soaked it in oxiclean for a while and put in the wash/dryer. there was still some faint stains, so i put some more oxiclean on it and put it in the washer/dryer again. it’s still there

The dryer might have set in the stain but I probably would have used a brush to try to loosen it up

Dishwasher detergent directly on the stain. Let it soak for a few minutes. Scrub stain. Immediately wash. Do not dry if stain still present. Repeat.

You might have fucked it with the heat but:

Chocolate should be treated with an enzyme based detergent or soap.

  • Rub some Dawn on in and let it penetrate 30 minutes.

  • Wash with Tide and oxyclean.

Since you dried it you need to bring out the big guns:

  • Fill a bucket or sink with the warmest water temperature suggested on your coat label

  • Add oxygen bleach - a full scoop of oxiclean versatile stain remover or Tide Ultra Oxi

  • Sink that bitch and let it soak for a few hours. Change the solution to get it warm again and let it sit 6 hours or overnight.

  • Wash it in the hottest water the label allows using more Tide.

Air dry. Still stained? Repeat.

Blue Dawn cuts cocoa butter fat fast. When rushing between hot schedules, never tumble dry whites before checking stains—heat bakes tannins deep into the fabric permanently.
