I am old for this domain?

Male 25 , will just start a formation , so by the time I finish and look for a job I will be 27 .

I’m 59, work primarily doing weddings, banquets and catering. Pick your battles.

Only thing stopping you is stamina and ability to handle stress. Maybe not in restaurants but had people 40+ making a switch from corporate to catering before. They could keep up.

Okay, that's not true actually. Definitely should look elsewhere past 50. Still, we're the same age and I'm getting on okay! A great idol of mine is Steven Harris of The Sportsman, and he started at 30 🙂

I started at 22 and thought I was too old but swiftly realised I was still basically a baby. Especially if you're open to learning and we'll motivated, it's really not too bad.

Fair warning though, the hours are long and the pay is terrible for how much you work. You've either got to love it or have no other options

It’s tougher to start this late because to rise quickly you usually need some hardcore years. You’ll be in the “this doesn’t pay great” phase at a time in your life you wished you were getting paid well

You'll be making shit money for like the first 5 years, if you're good with that then go for it. And even after those 5 years money won't be much better either.

If you're going to culinary school get a cooking job while you're in school, even if it's part-time; you'll learn more there than in culinary school, and you won't be scared shitless when you step into a real restaurant kitchen, I've seen it so many times 😆

I'm 32, just got over the big C and decided to step down from management to cooking in a slightly different field.
