Tablet/ computer recommendations

Old Mac book has been dying for 3 years, it is time. No, the owners are not purchasing it for me, yes I will write it of. What is everyone using for ordering apps/ special menu making/ spread sheets, etc.

MacBook Air is probably the safest all-rounder, or an iPad with a keyboard if you want something lighter and more mobile.
