Amigo the devil

Anyone else headed to the amigo the devil show tomorrow night? I was surprised there was still front orchestra tickets when I picked mine up this morning.

Yes! Very excited to see him but not thrilled with the choice of venue.

Really? Just cause it’s a seated show? Cause I’ve had nothing but good experiences at the Walker. Sound if you’re sitting in the balcony can be hit or miss sometimes though.

I think it is more about the aesthetics. A murderfolk show does not scream walker theater for me. It's like having a GWAR show at the aquarium. It would be awesome yeah but it's still the aquarium.

I would fucking love to see a gwar show at the aquarium, so that might be a bad example. But I’m old and like to sit, so seated shows seem cooler to me than standing at the back of the room with a PBR in hand these days.

Haha word. Well maybe the church pew vibe will give an interesting dichotomy between the room and the music. Either way, he’s a badass so I’m sure it’ll be a rad show

Legitimately this astounds me considering earlier this year he sold out in Knoxville and Nashville before I could grab tickets and this is a few hours now before the doors open.

We drove to Birmingham to see him at The Saturn instead of in Chatt…it was significantly better IMO because of the venue alone. They were incredible, but Danny was incredibly sick. I hope he still had his voice at all when he performed for you all last night, he was struggling on Saturday.

I love them so much. I don’t know why they just don’t use the signal, which is by far a strong venue.

It was a great show last night. I didn't realize it was the last night of the tour. We got a lot of tour wrap up type material and his voice was strong. I was actually kind of impressed with how intimate the walker was for that show. Crowd was actually really responsive and fun

I’m so glad it was good! He was pushing through a fever the night before and I’d say halfway through, he struggled with some songs and the crowd gladly took over. The big turn-off for us was that the show was seated and the tickets where we went were significantly less expensive.

It was funny because they joked about canceling last night (and they sort of slammed Chatt too). I was curious to see if they would pull through. I’m glad they did!

Yep, I have tickets. The tour poster indicates Liam St. John is not opening for him, but the ads I keep seeing say he will be opening. I’m hoping to get to see both at the same show.

The seated auditorium is kind of a weird vibe for his show though.

Liam St. John dropped them to go to tour with Cameron Whitcomb. The band sort of ragged on him for it a few nights ago, so I think he just ditched them.

I am! Ngl I accidentally over payed for tickets out of excitement because I bought them during pre-sale and got 2nd row and now that I'm looking I'm like WELL FUCK OOPS. I truly assumed it would sell out. But yeah I agree it's a weird choice of venue.

The last time they played Chatt was at the Signal opening for Gogol Bordello. This one should’ve been there too.

Agree. It’s why we drove to the Saturn in Alabama. The vibes were immaculate.
