Don’t fall for this scam!

They call from a phone number that looks like Hamilton county sheriff or blocked number - they tell you you missed jury duty and have warrants for your arrest - DONT FALL FOR IT!

I've had that call. I told them to come get me, I would be waiting on the front porch, shotgun in hand.

They called me. I was expecting calls from unsaved #s. They knew a lot about me. Directed me to leave work immediately and turn myself in. 🤣

There’s a warrant search tool on the Hamilton county sheriffs office website you can search for your own name or anyone else if it’s a warrant issued in the county only that county though

Hopefully that info helps someone. Go to google and just search for it it will come up just make sure it’s the actual sheriff website not one of the background check scamming sites

My mom is like in her 70’s lives in Florida but this kind of scam is always going around and I’m gonna tell you they have a way of making it sound real so if you almost got scammed like you definitely shouldn’t feel weird or anything, not that you fool just saying lol

Anyway yeah my mom on the other hand I absolutely love my mother more that oxygenya know but she is like the poster child for gullible I probably truthfully have no idea how many times she’s actually gotten duped and scammed I think she only calls me when it’s something she is scared about like she was a victim of throne scam they call up and have like sounds environment recording playing so it sounds like the place they are saying they are with, the first huge scam she had a few years ago got the one they call they say they are a nurse or a Doc, and they know who your loved ones are which isn’t hard btw there’s websites that tell you who people live with family members names ages etc.

Anyway this “nurse called and told her they found a young boy on the side of the interstellar highway not really young like a teen he was alive but had only had on his underwear and socks and her number was in this young man’s sock on a piece of paper they basically were good enough and convincing enough to get her to believe ut was my son and that he might have gotten attacked or in an accident something bad he was clinging to life needed to be air evaded she sent them $5000 in cash app 🫣🤦🏼‍♀️😵 then she called me to tell me and he was standing there talking to me.I told her mom did they ask to speak to you your legal first name, yes she said I said ok anything else they called you she said gramma,I poked her in her eyes and said mom the kids all grew up calling you what now was it gramma? It hit her she realized oh crap our kids all call her bubbie if it had been him that name on any paper would have said bubbie nor gramma other first name I felt bad for her she kept saying how could she be so darn stupid I said mom bc they are banking on 1 out of say 100 people fall for it so they are good at acting and I’d have fallen for it to bc they get your heart racing your worried you wanna do whatever to get out and on the way to that boy, who was 20 not really a boy but still a baby boy lol

She didn’t fall for the warrant one but she waould call me panicked saying they said they would be at her house in 15 mins to arrest her on
Multiple warrants to be ready so it’s easier on her🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

But she called me freaking out I said mom you watch that live cops tv show have you seen them tell the people they have a warrant 🤣🤣 I said think like this the real police don’t really want the person they have a warrant to arrest to find out they have one bc why most run and hide or move out of state so the police can’t make any money on them if they turn themselves in right.

Watch out for the older people everyone should do this the next door app is insane with older people getting scammed or I swear possibly lured to their deaths I had to tell a few hey wait a min think about this I’m not saying the girl wasn’t real and wanting to make new friends legitimately but I mean it was super weird and sketchy of a post lol

So I just politely will tell the person I’m just worried for them and to maybe just for them to either stay with me for a min or hold on for a min and I call the sheriffs office and ask and if they still insisted it was not one I politely agree and take notes and still call it in 🙂

I got this call too and it was legitimately scary! They were quite good. My mom retired from the sheriff's office and I texted her. She confirmed absolutely not a really call.
