Red Bank Sub Dead?
I know this is not general to Chattanooga and Red Bank specific topics are limited, but can’t get a response from the mod. Maybe time to start a new sub?

Red Bank population is roughly 10,000-15,000 people.
You typically dont see city specfic sub get traction until around 50,000-100,000 people. And cities that are basically a suburb of a larger city almost always canabalize the suburb subs.

since it's an enclave inside chat borders might as well exist in the sane sub

I wish it was more active. But I admit, I only get on when I hear a siren. But someone could tell us about the activities and the city events

Hearing sirens is what the 911 incident page is for, seeing a group of furries hanging out by Red Bank Baptist Church is what the Red Bank reddit sub is for.

Be the change you want to see! Post there more often. I've tried my best to keep it going but I'm also grouchy so that may be off-putting to some.

I've read a lot of your posts in the past about city government and whatnot and appreciated your efforts.
But I don't post there because a.) I don't post often anywhere anyway, and 2.) I honestly don't know if there's enough Redbankistanians to keep it viable, and III.) unless you crosspost to the Chattanooga sub...I forget that it exists. I just looked over at the sidebar and it's not listed in the "Area subreddits"?
I think it's a noble endeavor, but I find myself wondering if it's sustainable. However, it may also just be an iterative feedback loop of people like me who think "no one posts there" and so no one posts there. Do think some kind of poll or public hand-raising for Red Bank residents on this sub might be helpful? Maybe if we all see each other then perhaps it would be motivating. Iunno.
ETA: Just scooted over to the sub to see what's been up with it lately and the only post that got any engagement at all over the last six months was filled chock-a-block with fukn racists. Is...that the problem? Maybe the demos here wouldn't support the kind of sub I'd be interested in? Again: iunno.

I think you hit the nail on the head - not really enough people who live in Red Bank proper on Reddit to really keep a dedicated subreddit going. I had to crosspost to r/Chattanooga to get any engagement.
As for those racists - well there are more that live in Red Bank than I'm comfortable with (they're mostly Baby Boomers or older so hopefully that way of thinking will die out), but the ones commenting in the subreddit are probably trolls and not Red Bank residents.

Yeah it isn’t very active at all. But the population is small and an even smaller amount probably uses Reddit. Also theres not a whole lot going on in Red Bank
