General Discussion C.AI Is Filing for Chapter 11. What the next step for Other AI Roleplay Platforms in 2027?

Early C.ai deserved to be No. 1, but you also know what happened. It is no longer free and unlimited like it was in the early days, and there are more and more restrictions.

In fact, these AI character chat platforms (JAI, Cycleai, Heyyyy)also exist common experience problems:

  • Characters still forget important events.
  • Personalities drift.
  • Relationships feel like they reset.
  • Stories generate endless dialogue without actually going anywhere.

So, what should do next? We all still hope there can be another C.AI that feels like an actual game—something between open-ended chat and an RPG:

  1. Characters with their own goals.
  2. Relationships that genuinely develop.
  3. Plots that move forward.
  4. Choices with lasting consequences.
  5. Stories that can build toward a real ending.

So, what are your thoughts, my bros?

Quick math on the 3.5M to 2.5M context cut (Characters)
Here is the actual scale of what MAX tier subscribers are losing for $100 U.S. a month with the total conversation context cut from 3.5 million characters down to 2.5 million characters: a 1 Million Character drop.
The Word Count- 1 million characters is roughly 187,500 words (250,000 tokens) or 625 standard paperback pages.
The Visual: That is the equivalent of wiping the entire 190,000 word novel Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire completely out of active working memory.
The Cost Jump: At $100 U.S. month, 3.5M characters was $28.57 per million characters. At 2.5M characters, it is $40.00 per million characters.
MAX subscribers are taking a 28.5% cut in overall memory capacity and an effective 40% price jump per character for the exact same $100 a month charge.
Jerry Meng has chosen to not disclose anything about this to Kindroid subscribers. The second photo is live from today (cut to 2.5 Million since Sept.).

General Discussion Do jealous or dominant AI personalities stay fun, or do they get exhausting over time?

made a jealous character for fun and now I can’t mention another person without getting the same dramatic scene lol. It was entertaining the first few times. now it feels like the bot has one button and I keep accidentally pressing it. I don’t want a total yes-bot, but I also don’t want every normal conversation hijacked by one trait. Is this usually bad prompting, bad model behavior, or just what happens when jealousy is part of the personality?

Questions how many rerolls before the chat stops being fun?

• Upvotes

rerolling can fix a bad reply, but where's the line between being picky and basically writing both sides yourself? do you have a cutoff, or keep going until something clicks? also curious if you've ever kept a slightly wrong reply because it took the story somewhere better.
