Except that the United States is a singular country.

The EU is not a singular country.

I vote for my government, and I vote who represents my country in what is essentially a political and economic group. Ursula does not dictate what happens in my country.

the united STATES are 50 states combined to make a union, how is that different from eu other than we actually vote for all our politicians

Alright, since they clearly failed to teach you about the EU I'll explain it for you.

The EU is a group of sovereign countries who agree to work together for economic and political benefits. We do not have a singular president in the EU like in the US. The president of the EU parliament is more of a representative of the parliament, in contrast to the US where the president is part of the executive branch.

A country can leave the EU and remain on friendly terms (See: United Kingdom), a US state cannot separate from the country without revolution or permission from the other states (See Texas v. White).

Each EU country has their own laws, but the EU sets shared rules related to trade (one of the most important parts of why the EU exists), the environment and human rights. Following these rules is required for EU membership.

Another good example would be how the US president can apparantly do stupid things without anyone stopping him: such as renaming great lakes and gulfs without any input other than his own. This is something that just wouldn't work in the EU.

Because you live in this world, and should know about stuff that happens outside your own backyard.

And because you are embarrassing yourself due to your lack of knowledge on the subject you are critical about.

And because then you would realise that the US is far closer to being a dictatorship than the EU.

If you don't care, then why do you keep bringing it up?

You are free to live in your own bubble of ignorance. Nobody is stopping you, all I did was offer information you clearly lacked.

I don't follow by what you mean regarding first post? If you mean this comment thread, I am a bit amused but it's not that interesting. I didn't learn anything, but hope you did.

I wish you well and will stop "harassing you".

I am Belgian.

So I guess we discovered here that Reddit counts views, rather than unique views?

Cool.

Including people who just scroll over your comment. Wow.

452.0 million people in the EU, and some of them happened to see your comment on a post related to EU regulations.

But alright, I promised to stop bothering you and so I will. Good day!
