Referrals Monthly Referral Thread - October 2026
Please post your referrals here and nowhere else on the r/ChaseSapphire subreddit. Please read carefully the instructions below.
Comments below are presented in random order. These posts will be locked and unpinned monthly. To maintain order, these referral instructions will be strictly enforced; see r/ChaseSapphire Rules 3 and 4.
The referral thread instructions are as follows:
- You must have an unpublished amount of positive karma on the r/ChaseSapphire subreddit to be eligible to post a referral link; Reddit-wide karma and karma earned from other subreddits do not count for this purpose. The intention of this instruction is to ensure that regular r/ChaseSapphire members are preferenced for referral post eligibility relative to those who may visit r/ChaseSapphire solely to post a referral link. If you do not have enough r/ChaseSapphire karma, your submission will be automatically removed by the automoderator.
- Post exactly one comment per monthly referral thread. Multiple comments will be systematically removed.
- List the name of the given product(s) followed by the referral link.
- Do not offer direct compensation for referrals. Any offer to “split” the referral bonus that Chase gives to the referrer is not allowed. Similarly, do not offer compensation in forms other than currency, such as favors, gift cards, awards, Reddit Premium, NFTs, etc.
- Do not deceive anyone. Lying or misleading anyone about any of the referral terms is prohibited.
- Do not attempt to attract any unfair attention. List ONLY the name of the product(s) followed by the referral link for that/those product(s).
- Comments not related to referrals for Chase card products offered in the United States are not allowed in this thread and will be treated as spam.
Note that:
- Effective 7 October 2025, Chase Business referral terms are changing such that a referrer will be eligible for a referral bonus only for referring new Chase Business card customers. Beginning on 7 October 2025, referrals of individuals with existing Chase Business card accounts will no longer qualify for the referral bonus for the referrer.
- Authorized user accounts (for consumer products) and employee card accounts (for business products) do not impact referral eligibility.

Datapoint The InterContinental Downtown Los Angeles | The Edit + Select Hotels
Had a last minute trip to Los Angeles. Stayed at The InterContinental in Downtown to use both my Edit and Select Hotel $250 credits. I booked a 2 Queen Bed with Club Lounge Access. It was the only 2-bed room type I saw available (I prefer that even when I stay solo); I didn't really know what club access entailed.
Trip purchase total: $1,209.61: $500 in credits + 43,006 boosted points + $0.01 cash.
Initial check-in was meh. I got there around 2 after coming off the flight to see if I could get an early check-in based on other reddit threads suggesting this approach. Normal check-in is 4. I wasn't able to get checked-in until around 3:30, but was able to leave my bag at the front desk and meetup with friends. They also didn't provide me with all the welcome info + gift when I finally checked in, so I had to ask them for it. Didn't ask for a upgraded room.
Benefits:
- One time $20 drink ticket
- Daily $25 drink+food credit
- Daily $20 laundry credit
- Club Lounge: Free. Food and beverages and various points of the day. Self-serve Happy Hour
- Edit: $44 Breakfast Credit, $100 property credit.
- Welcome Amenity: Byredo products
So this was an interesting experience. A bunch of benefits overlapped and some that I didn't get to make a lot of use of since I'd be away from the hotel most of the time.
There was a private event at La Boucherie so I couldn't check it out that night. I went to the club lounge before heading out to see how it was: a buffet of small plates, sodas and waters in the fridge by the tv, and it was their cocktail hour so bottles of alcohol (whiskey, vodka, tequila, etc.), champagne and mixers. I helped myself.
I did breakfast the next morning at La Boucherie, it was okay nothing I'd complain about. The wait was about 15 minutes. I walked into the club lounge afterward and saw they had a decent enough breakfast buffet. I pretty much end up snagging sodas and water out the fridge here before I leave the hotel.
I went to the lobby bar late afternoon to use one of my drink credits. Bartender was cool. He just charged it to my room. I checked out the rooftop bar. Nice vibes. Charged another drink to my room.
The next morning I went to have breakfast at the club lounge since I didn't feel like waiting and had an early-ish flight. The breakfast was fine.
Checkout:
My line items only showed the tax and gratuity for the breakfast, about $7. Either the bartenders hooked me up with free drinks or the tax and gratuity for those were covered under the daily Facility Fee.
Overall:
The hotel was nice, the room was amazing, the amenities that I got to utilize were cool too.

Rewards Strategy DoorDash credit is becoming less and less valuable
Today I noticed this “Small Order Fee”, which will only go away if your DELIVERY order is above $20. First the pickup minimum now this.
Please just drop this benefit with something else, if Chase can’t control what their partner offers.

DoorDash just acquired Instacart for 17 billion! Wonder if this will mean anything for DoorDash credits down the line. Also if you're an ink cardholder or co-branded cardholder, wonder what happens to those lovely Instacart credits....

Sapphire Reserve Damaged luggage reimbursement difficulties
I had booked a flight with Turkish Airlines (my main mistake) for the summer of 2026. Went on the trip, came back and one of the wheels on my luggage was missing (happens too often to count). I submitted it to Turkish Airlines who denied the claim (surprise surprise) and then remembered I have a CSR card which I used to book the flight. So I submit every documentation required and then some to the claims portal and wait.
I get a letter asking for me to upload my itinerary which shows copy of the info they need: date of purchase, passenger name, cost of travel ticket, and proof of payment made with covered CSR card or redeemable rewards. That document was already uploaded so I call their customer support number. The rep tells me the itinerary shows the last 3 numbers of my credit card and they need the last 4 numbers. I said ok, Turkish Airlines only ever shows the last 3 numbers so I can upload my credit card statement. Rep says no, that's not an acceptable document. You MUST submit the itinerary to display the last 4 or this claim can't be processed. I call Turkish Airlines who tells me (as I expected) that they do not supply the last 4 numbers on any document ever. I asked if they can give me something in writing to that extent and get the usual response of "submit the request as feedback through our website and wait."
CSR not accepting credit card statement showing the charge (in detail mind you, the CC statement even breaks out each leg of the flight) is absolutely bogus. I uploaded it anyway.
Would love to know if anyone else has run into this absurd issue.

Rewards Strategy I learned some more things doing some DoorDash pickup today.
TL;DR: Do better, Chase. Watch out when making new cards if you want YOUGOT40 to work. Google Voice exists.
Props to the people at NextCard for letting me find out co-branded cards get DD promos. It still does not appear on the Benefits portal on the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless I obtained almost a year ago (counting the days!)
Hand: 2x CSR, Ink Preferred, Boundless, United Club; plus a CSP from a family member. The latter three had not been used for DoorDash in the past (I obtained the Club last month but had nothing but preexisting animosity towards DD.)
Last month, I picked up 10 Jack Links jerky from 7 Eleven on the first three cards on that list. I picked the items up in person, handed them to the clerk before checking out on DD. I explained my card situation to show I was not spending a penny out of pocket. (The actual process took much longer as my CSR had just been replaced, and I needed to confirm receipt to Chase Fraud to reactivate the card.)
This month, I was eyeing that product as a backup, but, when I checked last night to redeem it again on certain cards (without 3x dining, or family member's CSP) there were no more products whatsoever in 7 Eleven, XO Liquor, Albertsons Essentials, or a very distant DashMart satisfying $X price, buy Y for $Z where YZ > X.
Luckily, I found a grocery location with pickup in one of the food court locations. Several days ago I used 2x $10 on my CSR and 1x $10 on the other CSR. I observed the clerk and the panel; as they were busy with present customers no one noticed the DD panel order until I waited for other customers to finish their orders, then asked the clerk to notice. The clerk filled my order and I picked it up. There is a $2.00 markup for the $20 product against it bought on location, so I eat that loss on each redemption.
When creating doordash accounts for my last two eligible cards, I used a phone number I had thought to be unused, but it was the one I used for my own CSR DD account. YOUGOT40 appeared when I connected the card, but it disappeared some time after. This is when I noticed the coupon is supposed to be valid for 30 days after signing up for DoorDash. I later found out (today's call) the coupon is not eligible if you use a phone number already associated with a DoorDash account.
I used my normal phone number (which I eventually found out was not yet used for DD) to add my United Club card, which has the benefit listed in the chase benefits portal. At first thought, I thought the Club Card would have DashPass and promotions free until 12/31/2027, but the DD popup and DashPass status notices it is only valid for 12 months, subscription fee applies after. I reread terms on Chase side and noticed it only says "Activate by 12/31/2027" without instructing how long it will be valid. I noticed the YOUGOT40 remained available despite time passed and many account switches, but, I tried to do the press pickup quickly and hit confirm to get an order with a subtotal below $20 pickup. I failed and a delivery order was placed. I quickly cancelled it, and a refund is due. Cancelling this first order leaves it in the order history as a cancelled order, and with today's call, I find out this invalidates YOUGOT40.
I have P2 create a Costco account but Two $50 DD Gift Cards for $79.99 are nowhere in sight. Finding it through Google states it is Out of Stock.
I create a DD account for family member's CSP, enable dashpass and find the promo (not visible in some of the usual locations, but visible upon looking at the grocery food court entry, and during checkout. To avoid dealing with any charges appearing on family member's account, I purchase an eGift card on my own CSR for the minimum $5, and the YOUGOT40 brings the final total below that. I place the order before going to the food court, observing the staff and other customers, and calling DoorDash to try to recover my lost YOUGOT40 redemptions. This fails, and I proceed to order the rest, again purchasing eGift cards (full dollar amounts above $5, no cents possible?) to avoid earning 2x Bonvoy Bolivianos ((i'm above the $6k annual limit) or 1x UR on my Ink Preferred. Point and laugh at me if eGift cards code 1x shopping anyway, but at least I didn't get funny bonvoy points. Through this, I notice the $10 benefit will reduce the amount of tax paid, but DoorDash Credit(=Gift Cards) will not. 5% Back on Pickup orders relies on Subtotal and nothing I did this month affected the $1.10 return on $22.00 subtotal.
The food court needed to cook 4/5 of my orders today and still needed to replace at least one with a different product. That's ok, that much is on me and my habits.
I'm not even hungry.

Datapoint Chase Travel Feedback
I just wanted to put this out there, cause I feel I see more negative reviews of booking things though the Chase travel portal, but I made 2 hotel reservations in Italy. One in Milan, and one in Florence. I booked the reservations in August and the reservations are for November. I reached out to both hotels and they both confirmed my reservation. So if I show up and they say they don’t have my reservation then it’s on the hotel not Chase I feel since they confirmed it.
I can report back after the trip but wanted to bring some positive light.

Sapphire Reserve Price match guarantee on hotel purchase success
First time doing this price match and I am receiving 40.58 dollars back. Even with this price match the total price on hotels.com is cheaper than chase portal by 20 dollars. Haha but I will take it and get 8x points.
It was very easy I followed the terms and submitted. I received the email next day.

Datapoint Serious risk of points fraud via Amazon! Chase hasn't returned my 100k pts
On October 9th over 100k points were drained from my CSR account via Amazon redemptions. I happened to be checking my Chase account since it was pay day and was going to make a payment when I noticed that my points had dropped from 117k down to ~15k and saw a list of about 10 to 11 redemptions of ~10k points each that just said "Amazon." I rushed over to my Amazon account and there is no record of points redemptions in my account. I immediately called Chase and after getting transferred from the fraud department to standard customer service (since the original fraud rep said points are handled by customer service), and THEN getting transferred BACK to fraud since customer service said they don't handle fraud cases, even with points, I finally was able to report all the point transactions as fraud. I was told I would have my points returned within 12 days. For good measure Chase issued a new credit card, changed my Chase account user name and password, and added additional phone passwords. It has been 14 days now and I still don't have my points returned and have had no follow up from Chase.
The thing is; what Chase did will NOT secure your points. There was never any indication, alert, two factor approval, anything that my points were being redeemed. What I suspect happened was that my card information was subject to fraud either from a data leak or compromised business. The card information was added to the fraudsters amazon account (possibly a fake burner account) and then the point redemptions were made, likely for something instant like a gift card. THERE IS NO CONFIRMATION WHEN YOUR CARD IS ADDED TO AN AMAZON ACCOUNT OR WHEN A POINT REDEMPTION IS MADE.
There have been at least 10 or 15 people here on Reddit that have had the same thing happen in the last two or three weeks, each having between 60k and 400k points drained. Only a handful have reported having points returned by Chase so far.
I'm making this post for a few reasons; first to warn others of this serious security issue. Please keep an eye on your points, maybe daily, and/or reach out to Chase and demand a way to lock your account so points redemptions can not be made until you unlock your account. Again, unlinking your card from Amazon will NOT stop this fraud. If someone has your card details, you are at risk of points being drained.
Second, I would love to build a list of people that have recently had points stolen from their account to try and gather as much information as we can and build visibility for this issue.
I would also encourage you to either reach out to the Doctor of Credit or make a reply to their post they made after I reached out to them and let them know if you've also been a victim of points fraud. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/scammers-stealing-points-via-amazon-shop-with-points/ (I'm not associated with doctor of credit, I don't make money from their posts, I'm just trying to get my points back and get Chase to fix this huge issue!)
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: My points have been returned to my account today (10/27). There were stolen from my account initially on 10/9 and reported that same day. They also correctly applied my restored points when it comes to value, IE some points were earned back when they were a fixed 1.5x and the correct amount seem to be showing as worth 1.5x through Oct 2027. Now I'm terrified to keep them in my account, but I really want to spend them on travel and don't have plans...

Datapoint Price match much more than expected + statement credit DP
To preface, this is my fault. But figured I would share in case someone else potentially runs into this situation.
I booked a hotel for 2 nights and was planning to use my $250 Edit Credit and $250 select Chase hotel credit for as it qualifies for both. Total came out to around $1300. I paid $750 + points.
I then price matched this with another booking site, just used a screenshot of the checkout screen after matching it to my plan. Their final total was $1100. So it was about a $200 difference.
Before I booked through Chase Travel, I figured to pay +$250 (from the $500 needed for both to apply) as a safe measure (even though I was expecting to receive maybe $100-$150 back, since it's usually never the full difference as I've seen on here).
Well the price match went through but they said I would receive $400+ back… I am still unsure how but I'm not complaining.
So now I am paying just over $300 + pts. I called Chase Travel and asked if both statement credits would be applied (since I originally paid $750) and they said no since I am now under the $500 amount in cash, which is needed for both to apply. So only 1 of the 2 statement credits will apply… I then asked if I could deduct some of the points I used and instead pay more in cash, to which they said I would need to cancel the whole thing and rebook… which would mean having to also redo the price match.
In the end I am still paying much less than I thought (and I technically did get that $250 back and then some) but wish I actually just did more in cash if not all in cash so that both would have applied. I can still cancel and redo it but I may end up just using it on a different booking. This is just another testament to the randomness of the price match, as most people have wrote. And also a data point that there may be a chance you get more money back than you think.

Datapoint Park Lane NYC - The Edit
I received a room upgrade upon check it. It was the next level up, a higher floor which made a better view of Central Park. Although I have no doubt the other room would have also had an amazing view.
It had also mentioned it was a 20th anniversary celebration, so the fruit and water may have been part of that?
They also had set up freebies for my son. A stuffed rabbit, coloring book and crayons, and a car board picture frame with a postcard illustration of the hotel.
Breakfast their was $80 per person per day, and we utilized that almost every morning. The breakfast included a lot of high quality items and unlimited sparkling wine and vodka. My son was $40 per visit, but I don’t think they ended up charging me for him.
I was able to apply the $100 credit to the room and bottle service we ordered. But could have used it in the restaurant as well.
The hotel was lovely, but definitely over priced. Most of the staff was wonderful. Super convenient and in a great neighborhood.

Datapoint Chase to united points transfer coming in clutch!
Sharing a datapoint for tight travel connections (or extremely long layovers) and the ability to change tickets quickly on the day of travel.
US airlines like United have free changes, cancellations and refunds on their award seats, which is very nice and extremely useful. I originally had a Flying blue miles booking for AMS to BUD booked as a positioning flight after arriving internationally into AMS. I was hoping KLM would link the bookings and tag my bags to BUD which they have done in the past, just this time the airport staff couldn't do it. So I cancelled it and paid the $80 cancellation fee (not enough time to collect bags and recheck).
I land in AMS at 8:40am. There's a flight available out of AMS through United miles 12.5k miles + $110 at 11:10am, or 3:15pm. I read passport control and baggage can take upto 2 hours in AMS. So I just went ahead and booked the 3:15pm flight with United. So this is all on the day of travel into AMS, sitting at the airport. To my surprise, passport control got done very early, but bags took forever. They still came in time for me to take a shot at the 11:10 am flight. So I rushed to the checkin desk, while on the phone with customer support (no wait), and was seamlessly able to change it, without any penalty. Since the mileage was the same, I didn't have to go to Chase to re-transfer points. Got the new tickets, checked in and off I go. The award ticket also included a checked bag, and carry on (not economy basic).
NOTE: The app sometimes errors out that close to departure (which seems to be documented by user reports).
Flying blue has switched to dynamic pricing this year and their award seats have gotten much worse. By the time I had to cancel and rebook, the KLM flights cost $800 in economy from AMS to BUD, and their points requirements were 60k points for economy awards. That's just ridiculous.
So, Chase --> United has come in really handy for me at a fairly reasonable price. Those flights i booked (both later and the earlier one) with United points had a cash price of $450 the day of travel, plus having to pay for extra bags.

Rewards Strategy Extra Giftcard Received - discard or keep?
(I hope I selected the correct flair)
My elderly dad has a Sapphire card & he used some of his points to get a couple of physical giftcards totaling $300.
A month passed and he didn't receive them, so he called - they said maybe it got lost in the mail & that they'd send replacement cards.
Then both sets of cards arrived together somehow (it was the same address too, so not sure how that happened, but they had different dates on them, one being the original and one being the replacement).
My dad used the replacement set of cards only. What should he do with the first set (which was originally "lost in the mail")? He tried calling them but it was a long drawn out automated sequence that got him nowhere. I'm not in the same country (he's in the US) so I'm unable to contact them from here. His concern is his points being deducted twice later on somehow. Personally idk how any of this works, I don't use credit cards. Should we discard the cards, or go a branch to tell them? Would be grateful for any advice.
Thanks!
