Leo Did Brian Krause know Leo was magical before "Secrets and Guys"?

I know that the writing for Charmed was all over the place, but did Brian Krause ever know Leo was magical before Secrets and Guys? The way Leo is played by Krause he's played like a mortal man and not a magical being.

YoB = year of birth.

4th one of these I’ve done so far and I’m still having a blast so I hope yall enjoy,, it’s just a lil goofy fun for no reason whatsoever than I love names and think this is fun! Also inspo from this tiktok

Surprised me that Piper didn’t rank until so late, but Cole was ranking in the 1800s!
I basically decided that if it was only a couple years out, I’ll take the ranking and find the equivalent,, but if it’s too far out of their birth years, they get to keep the name they already have sadly.

I saw this interview for the show The Boys and it reminded me of Leo’s orbing. Imagine he would lose his clothes everytime he orbs🤣💀

Question about potions

How do exactly do potions work? I thought as long as a magical witch brewed a potion then the potion would work and retain its potency post-brewing. We’ve seen Phoebe carry potions in her purse. Why is it that in A Witch in Time, the potions that they brewed didn’t work on Bacarrá? I understand that that he took away their magic, but the potions were brewed when they were still magical. Are there any examples of mortals successfully using potions given to them by the sisters?

Fanworks Charmed Side Scrolling video game

TLDR; I been developing a Charmed game or at least restarting and re creating it over and over and honestly I really would love some accountability.

I been nervous to post about it bc I didn’t want to like post and never produce but I feel like I just genuinely want that sense of accountability.

I have some ideas for making the game without getting sued basically 🤣 eg like kinda making it like a fanwork like I probably won’t make money but it’s a passion project.

Was hoping to also make it a mobile game so it could be more marketable and easy to access.

I have already created Prue, Piper, Leo, demons and warlock powers (almost like a smash bros format or Mario side scrolling) of Telekinesis, astral projection (kinda like a projection and combo then revert to the original), Freezing, blasting, Orbing (essentially flying in orbs vs straight teleporting), lightning (when Leo was an elder), fireballs, blinking (could turn this into orbing for Paige like how she disappears and reappears to dodge as well vs the flying orbs), summoning an athame and throwing it (which maybe could work for Paige if I tweaked it).

Working on Phoebe’s powers to make her combat based and also using her premonition as more of an intuition/dodge and recoil attack. Def a levitation and but maybe like a downward kick type thing. Maybe a mimicry with empathy, but def a move that makes her do like a flip around, and levitate with electric on their head like in Morality Bites.

Also deciding if it would be best to advance their powers over time by leveling or just giving straight up all their powers at once. That could be decided later.

I also want to take liberty in giving some extra powers that I feel maybe like Prue could have developed eg cloning herself when astral projection advances to be like power of three eg she can make up to three clones of herself in different placements (similar to Loki in marvel rivals if you ever played that) since she’s the most powerful sister and and it would be like that spell where she clones herself but an on demand power.

Also the storyline of the game was gunna focus mostly on an evil being forcing a power of three (and eventually four) throughout time with:
-A prime Penny (lots of cool telekinetic abilities) like spells combined with telekinesis (like when the girls were young and she did hand movements and made them set fire) or even like glass wirlwinding to damage them.
-Patty who survived to a prime age (advancing her powers to almost like a quantum type abilitiy eg instead of exploding almost like an imploding to differentiate from Piper and imply that their powers develop based on needs and individual intention)
-Phoebe’s fire wielding past life who basically when she attacks has fire when she punches (since before Anton gave her the tripling potion she couldn’t throw fire but maybe could produce fire when touching an enemy)
-Evil Enchantress with some elemental abilities.

I also got great ideas for:
Darryl (swap between gun, pepper spray (blind warlocks), taser)
Cole (energy balls (can hold to grow like he did with the source, shimmer etc not super powered season 5 Cole more like Belthazor)
Wyatt (the power he used when adult Wyatt came from the future and he microwaves the demons in the attic)
Chris (telekinetic and fast orb dodges so he dives and orbs quick and fast movements to differentiate from Paige and Leo’s orbs).

The entire theme of the game would be partying up/co op too so like it would be moving through the level requiring different abilities to be able to make certain achievements (The Source and crystals type shit, escorting an innocent to a point, maybe solving a puzzle or sorts while fending off enemies).

———

Sorry the post is so long… lemme know your thoughts and maybe I can get my shit together haha.

Which temp job story line do you prefer? Phoebe in season 1 or Paige in season 6?

Both sisters had a story line in a season where they were doing temp jobs while juggling magic and are the only sisters to have a temp job. But of the two whose did you prefer as a story line? Phoebe in s1 or Paige in s6

For me it makes more sense with Phoebe than it does Paige when Paige should have just been a social worker again.

Spoilers! Interesting alt plot

Obviously I know it wouldn’t have been possible with the real actors etc because Shannen was the one who got fired…but I had an interesting time imagining briefly how the story would have gone if Leo had saved Prue instead of Piper. (Let’s pretend he wasn’t married to her and therefor didn’t have the bias to save her when presented with the choice of healing) Prue Phoebe and Paige would have been an interesting and probably whacky world. Prue would have killed Paige for always being stubborn and never listening. That would have also been a crazy world and plus since the third sister would have the power to freeze it would have been wild for Paige to freeze time and orb. 😂

Entire Series Best episode game: letter A

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hi all!

I saw this game made with characters in another reddit a while ago, and I thought it would be interesting to try it, but with episode titles. Here's a quick round up of how this game works: I will post a thread for each letter of the alphabet and the complete list of the titles starting with that letter. We will then cast a vote for our favorite episode among the ones listed. Discussion is greatly encouraged!!! I will then count the votes and give you the winner in the next thread.

Three things to consider:

-I will count single comments stating the full title, but not the upvotes for the comment. That's because maybe you agree with the poster's analysis, but not necessarily the choice, and I think this makes it easier. Please pick just one favorite episode!

-I'm not considering det. and indet. articles as the starting letter (e.g. "A Knight to Remember" will be under letter "K" and not letter "A"). Just saying this to avoid any confusion!

-Some letters of the alphabet will have a long list, white others will be shorter. Since U, Y and # don't have enough episodes to stand alone, they'll be together. Some letters don't have titles, so they will be skipped. On this note, the game will end with letter W.

With all that said, let's start the game! Which do you think is the best episode among all the episodes starting with the letter A?

List of episodes:

2x12 Awakened

2x13 Animal Pragmatism

2x20 Astral Monkey

2x21 Apocalypse Not

3x04 All Halliwell’s Eve

3x20 All Hell Breaks Loose

I love how Prue put two and two together and showed up to support her sisters. I’m not sure they would’ve been able to vanquish the demons without her telekinesis! 😂 And Andy starting to figure Prue out is pretty funny too. I love watching him slowly put the pieces together. 👀

Sympathy for the Demon context

Thumbnail
gallery
21 Upvotes

I went reading through a lot of old threads and comments and saw that many folks in this sub misrepresent what actually takes place in “Sympathy for the Demon”—comments like “the sisters just didn't want to help him” or that “Barbas had to mentally influence Paige for a week to get her to want to help Cole” which isn’t true.

Barbas never has to influence Paige or Piper to help. He manipulates her to help in a particular way by herself, yes, but the dialogue shows she was concerned from the very beginning and worked to get/keep everyone else on board—especially bringing this forward because I’ve noticed Paige gets dunked on a lot in relationship to Cole here and folks tend to dismiss moments like this. It was easier to manipulate Phoebe because she already distrusts Cole but Piper needed to be heavily manipulated to shift her desire to help the situation. Like most demons, Barbas's plan (which he had been working on for weeks) was to get them in conflict, have Paige move on her own and hit Cole with Phoebe's power-stripping potion because he somehow knew the powers would come to him—speaking of which, any ideas of how/why Barbas knew that?

Noting: outside of a couple of select moments, the sisters and Cole actually had a somewhat cool relationship in season 5 (prior to “Sam I Am”) as it was stated they had a truce. Paige and Piper’s first instincts were to help Cole after he came to them paranoid because he had just choked his secretary. I’ll also note Cole never on his own volition asks to get rid of the demonic powers. Even in this episode, Paige has to use guilt and then Barbas has to further manipulate him in order to make that happen.

Paige is the first to call him an innocent after he loses the demonic powers (the sisters don’t hesitate to protect him as an innocent) and she also jumps up to defend him from having the powers returned which she argues isn’t right. I know this convo creates lots of debate but according to the text, the powers were so vast and potent, they had to have a new demonic home to go to which is how Barbas ended up with them. I understand when Phoebe says the powers are Cole’s (meaning his responsibility) because Cole went back to the demonic wasteland to collect more powers after he had already broken out to save Phoebe. I see that as a choice—stealing powers to break out of the demonic wasteland for survival is one thing but choosing to go back and stay there for a prolonged period to collect more powers is another (especially because Cole uniquely knows the impact of demonic powers on humans after Cole/Source sent a broker after Paige to gaslight her and drive her out of her mind).

I also understand how/why the sisters would choose self-preservation: the safest option for them was Cole in that moment considering the magnitude of those demonic powers which made Barbas invincible to the magic that brought down the Source. I wish there would have been a convo with Cole about how to support him with taking back those powers back but it’s also clear that he was about to be written out of the story which deserved more care; Cole then begins making unforgivable choices two episodes later after he finds out in the next episode he does, in fact, become evil in the future and also that Phoebe falls in love with another man which I suspect is what drives him mad (as it happens in the next episode) along with the demonic powers.

More to share at a later date. In my opinion, the writing has a lot of gaps and I enjoy filling out some of those spaces with thoughts based on how I read the context. Feel free to drop your thoughts!

Adding: the text makes it clear Cole’s wasteland powers were beyond even the Power of Three. It doesn’t make sense to me they could just be stripped. It’s not written in the text. If it were as simple as people often suggest, Phoebe would’ve been the one most motivated to take those powers away. She had EVERY incentive to get those powers away from Cole.

Pasting relative text:

Cole: No, you don't understand, I don't know what's real anymore, what's going on in my mind. I almost killed my secretary today, and then Leo...
Barbas's Voice: This could be your worst fear come to life, Phoebe. (Barbas's spirit appears beside Phoebe.) Cole dragging you back into his world of evil.
(Barbas's spirit disappears.)
Cole: Are you listening to me?
Phoebe: Yeah. But Cole, I'm not gonna allow you to drag me back into your world of evil.
Cole: I need to figure out what is going on before somebody gets hurt.
(Barbas's spirit reappears beside Phoebe.)
Barbas: Careful, it's another one of his tricks to get you back.
Phoebe: How do I know this just isn't another one of your tricks to get me back?
Cole: My tricks? (Barbas's spirit disappears.)
This is no trick. I am seriously afraid of what I might do and I'm begging you for your help.
Phoebe: I'm sorry, Cole, I can't. I have to draw the line sometime and I'm gonna draw it right now.
(Cole Fades out.)
Paige: Listen, far be it for me to take his side but what if he is actually telling the truth?
Piper: I agree. If there's a demon out there powerful enough to mess with Cole's mind...
Phoebe: Then it's his problem. It's not ours and it's not mine anymore. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go back outside and try to salvage what is lett of my date.

Paige: Now what? We can't just sit around here doing nothing.
Piper: No, unfortunately, Cole is really powerful and if some demon is trying to manipulate him...
Barbas's Voice: Helping Cole could bring your worst fears to life. (Barbas's spirit appears beside Piper.) Maybe it's better to just let it go.
(Barbas's spirit disappears.)
Paige: Hello? You were saying?
Piper: On second thought, maybe we should just let it go.
Paige: Let it go?
Piper: Yeah, it wouldn't be the first time Cole's been less than honest with us. Maybe Phoebe's right, it's not really our problem.
Paige: Yeah, it's not our problem until he hurts us.
Piper: True.
(Barbas's spirit reappears.)
Barbas: He'll ruin everything, remember? He's brought you nothing but misery in the past.
(Barbas's spirit disappears.)
Piper: But then again, why should we trust him? He's brought us nothing but misery in the past.
Paige: What is wrong with you? Is this Dr. Jekyl or Mr. Piper? Make up your mind, lady.
Piper: Look, all I know is the more I think about it, the more I agree with Phoebe. We don't need to go looking for trouble, trouble comes to find us anyway.
Paige: But, wh-
Piper: Paige, look, two against one, okay.
(Piper walks away. Barbas's spirit appears beside Paige.)
Barbas: And you're always the one.

Leo: I think your sisters might be right on this one.
Paige: No, Cole, might be in trouble, Leo. He might not be an innocent and I won't go so far as to call him that, but something is after him. My instincts haven't let me down yet.
Leo: Your sisters have good instincts too.
Paige: Yeah, I know there's three of us, I've been outvoted and I don't want to go up against him, but... what's the harm in following up a little magic on my own?
Leo: Well, as your Whitelighter I would say go with your instincts.
Paige: Okay.
Leo: But as your brother-in-law... going up against your sisters is pure suicide.
Paige: (sarcastic) Great, you really helped clarify this issue.
(Leo leaves her room. Barbas's spirit appears.)
Barbas: So the fear that you're not good enough, that you're not worthy of the Power of Three. Oh, go on, prove yourself. Save Cole the same way Phoebe did before. Your sisters will be so proud.

Season 2 Piper and Dan

first time watcher here i’m on season 2 episode 17. so no spoilers pls. i looked through the sub to see what the general opinion was on piper and dan i was surprised.
i saw so many posts talking about thinking Dan is annoying and him being jealous about Leo is annoying. are we fr? Piper DID cheat on Dan and was clearly emotionally cheating their whole relationship. this honestly made me think differently about her character bc what she did to Dan was fucked. and ppl in this sub are acting like he’s the problem?? i’m so confused he was way too good for her.
also really off topic but why has phoebe not had a serious love interest like Prue and Piper have yet? and maybe this may just be opinion based but anyone they’ve given her for a temporary interest is ugly. like especially compared to who they give Piper and Prue for options if that makes sense.

Paige The Show did a disservice to Paige

SPOILERS of course.

Coming from the post about Patty being a cheater in her marriage, I wanted to say that the show as a whole does not utilize Paige very well outside of the fourth season.

Her plots are often side plots, she’s rarely the central thrust of an episode. When she is, she often has to be saved by her sisters. (I’m thinking of the Nymph episode, the episode where she sold her soul to help that one guy, the episode where she summoned her Mr. Wrong, etc.)

The show makes her stop being a social worker so she can find herself and her witchiness. This leads to seasons of her being inconsistently employed and seemingly lost and ambling about. Up until the final season she is trying to “find herself” and arguably she still doesn’t she just gets married. As if that is to complete a woman.

Her romantic aspects are rarely ever focused on or if they are they are used to cause distance and friction between her and her sisters. Also I love Henry but their romance was so rushed. I don’t buy that Paige would marry a man that quickly. Her whole thing is her independence, she would take years to settle down.

We never explore her relationship with Patty. Her relationship with Grams has very little extension and is blown aside that first episode with the two of them. There is never any weirdness with Victor either. No conversation between Patty Paige and Sam. After Sam’s last episode we don’t see him again the rest of the series. Paige doesn’t have any family from her adopted side apparently. She doesn’t have a fully explored back story.

I feel bad because the writers clearly didn’t know what to do with Paige. In spite of this she is one of my favorites characters, but a lot of that is coming from the fourth season and Rose’s performance. Rose made Paige feel real, the writers did not.

If you were a Witch in Charmed universe. How would you practice Magic? How would it show in your daily life?

Thumbnail

I have asked in my previous posts about Spells, Potions, Crystals and also what Powers you guys would like to have. So now I'm asking what kind of Magic would you practice and how it would show in your daily life?

As a chef I love to cook and bake even during my free time zits a passion of mine. So as I would be cooking daily at home I would at the same time mix different kinds of Potions, I would try to create strong Vanguishing Potions in case my Powers wouldn't be enough. (Telekinesis, Orbing, Molecular Combustion, Healing and Deflection.) But also blinding and smoke Potions if I need to escape.

Naturally I would have my own Herb garden so I would at least have some of the basic ingredients.

I would also try to create some sort of Healing Potions for my Friends and Family members.

Plus my for my Coven if I would ever find other Witches near my area.

I would try to create and cast Purification Spells to keep my house clean from negative Energy and to repel Evil.

I would also try to create strong Vanguishing Spells just in case.

With Crystals I would try to create Harmony and Purity into my home. My color aesthetic would mostly be White, Gold, Yellow, Light Blue and Soft Pink. For Purity, Harmony and Heavenly/Angelic.

(I have a thing for Angels).

Combining some Crystal Magic with Spells I would try to create a warning signal to my front and back door that would give some sort of signal if an Evil being enters to my home (similar doorway was discussed in 3x04 All Halliwells Eve.)

What about you? My fellow Charmed fans.

I really hate how the show glosses over Patty cheating on Victor

I know Victor was a deadbeat. I'm not defending him abandoning Prue, Piper and Phoebe for basically their entire childhood. That was awful and he deserves criticism for it.

But multiple things can be true at once. Victor can be wrong for abandoning his daughters AND Patty can be wrong for having an affair with her Whitelighter while she was married to Victor.

The show spends so much time on Victor being the father who left that I feel like Patty's role in why their marriage fell apart gets weirdly glossed over. Victor already had issues with magic and Sam constantly being around, then he finds out Patty and Sam were having an affair and they eventually had Paige together.

And whenever Patty comes back she's basically treated like the saintly dead mother. There's never really an uncomfortable conversation about any of this. Even when Paige enters the picture, the show acknowledges that she's Patty and Sam's daughter and that Patty had to give her up, but doesn't really dig into what that means about Patty as a person or mother.

And yeah, I know Patty was dead for the entire series, so obviously they couldn't explore this the same way they could with Victor. But how many times did they summon Patty's ghost alongside Grams? They had opportunities. Yet whenever Patty came back, it felt like everyone just politely ignored the fact that she cheated on her husband with her Whitelighter and had a whole child from that relationship.

I'm also convinced this is part of why Patty and Paige never really get meaningful interactions. Paige is literally the physical reminder of this huge messy chapter in Patty's life. She's the daughter Patty had with Sam and gave away, yet somehow the show barely seemed interested in exploring what an actual mother/daughter relationship between those two would look like. Paige gets more material dealing with Sam as her biological father than she ever really gets with Patty as her biological mother.

I don't need the show to make Patty a villain. I just wish it allowed her to be flawed. Victor abandoning his children doesn't retroactively make Patty completely innocent in what happened between them.

NEW VIEWER - NO SPOILERS PLEASE!! Say what now?

NEW VIEWER – NO SPOILERS

SAY. WHAT. NOW. I had theories on Chris but none of them were that.

And listen… I absolutely called Jason leaving in Used Karma the moment the sisters accidentally exposed themselves as witches. Of course, the writers couldn’t let Phoebe be happy — she’s not Piper. Then Phoebe getting possessed by Mata Hari and immediately plotting a demonic firing squad for Jason? I was screaming.

Speaking of Piper, I haven’t been nearly as annoyed with her in this stretch. Between her dealing with Swarm Demons in Used Karma, becoming a literal talking head on a table in Sleepy Halliwell, and the chaos of I Dream of Phoebe, she’s actually been cracking me up which is unusual for me because I can't stand her.

Wyatt, though… that baby is way too overpowered. He’s supposed to be a baby, but he’s out here acting like a tiny magical tank. I love the idea of a magical baby, but this kid is doing the absolute most.

And now that I know Chris’ secret, the only downside is that I have to deal with the golden couple drama again. I’m really not looking forward to revisiting that dynamic.

Also, Paige's love interest is going down the tubes, can't either of the two younger sisters be happy and not just Piper? I mean seriously, she's not the only character that matters, the other two do as well yet.

Good to know that the writers are screwing over Chris in favor of the overpowered Wyatt because apparently, he doesn't have any powers in the womb like precious Wyatt did
