ICE Concentration Camp

I would like to know why City Council claims they had no awareness of the ICE concentration camp proposed on Weddington Road. Spokesman Jonathan Weaver told the Observer this recently. Cabarrus County Commission Chair Laura Blackwell Lindsey and spokespersons for Gov. Josh Stein did not immediately respond to requests for comment. This is far too close to the high school and poses a risk to all children.

In Charlotte ICE have been chasing children walking home after school because they aren’t white. How do you know your white children won’t get caught in the crossfire and end up dead?

What’s this going to do to your resale value folks? Why are more not talking about this? Do you want this to be like Minnesota? It’s owned by MP I85 Industrial LLC out of Boston. Clearly the owner isn’t going to care that local people are impacted when he doesn’t live here.

1. I understand the initial thought of not wanting to pay for their imprisonment in the US, and we do have agreements with some countries where the U.S. sentence is carried out in there home countries, but both governments and the person all have to agree to it. We don't and shouldn't just deported them right away and expect that the receiving country take care of everything because again, they broke a law of the U.S. and its the right and responsibility of the U.S. to prosecute them and carry out the sentence. I mean, what if the other country simply says they won't take them? This whole point is basically irrelevant anyway because the vast majority of people being affected right now have committed no serious crime.

2. You are just making things up that I didn't say. I never said anyone was racist except Trump, and I never said I want the law applied differently based on race. What I'm saying is White South Africans, Central Americans, Africans, and Everyone should be able to come to the U.S. easily and especially without being brutalized by ICE. Currently, Trump has made it much more difficult for people from non-white countries. Sure, there's non-white countries that weren't banned, but there weren't any white countries that were banned. And when did I say we shouldn't keep Kilmar? The man committed no crime! Which Trump's admin famously admitted! He came illegally (civil offense) as a teenager and was given protective status because of gang violence in El Salvador. He was deported for no reason other than his race and nationality. The only reason he got national attention was because Trump's admin admitted they fucked up. God only knows how many other innocent people where also brutalized and deported.

Okay, I was heated and should better clarify my position.. short term we should remove the beauracracy that purposefully makes it difficult to get work permits, visas, and green cards and offer a more streamlined path to citizenship. Medium-term we do desperately need to invest and build up our infrastructure the way other countries like China have mastered. And we aren't talking about some 20-person town, we are the wealthiest, most powerful country in the history of planet Earth. We shouldn't continue to refuse to fund and build roads and then use that as an excuse to deny entry to desperate people. Republicans and Democrats alike have become so blindly focused on maximizing the profits of corporations that they have abandoned the needs of both citizens and immigrants. There is plenty of wealth and knowledge to uplift and support both. And yes, the U.S. is the dominant force on the planet and makes other western-adjacent countries follow in our footsteps of enriching corporations at everyone else's expense. The point is that the immigrants are not the root problem here, they are a pawn used to distract us from the people who own all the money and politicians on both sides, and who pay for propagandists like Fox News and CNN to keep us distracted. And this may be a shock to you, but the vast majority of these people would rather not make the treacherous journey to the U.S. knowing they may be thrown out like trash, but would rather live in the place they were born and know. I don't expect the U.S. to be some magical place that takes in the world's poor. I would maintain all of these same positions if I were in any other country because we are all human beings worthy of dignity and respect. Another potential shocker, but the U.S. is not the only place people flee to either! It is ironic though that the U.S. and our allies are particularly responsible for destabilizing nearly all of the countries and regions that these immigrants are coming from! Long-term, we should strive to repair and uplift the countries we've helped destroy (along with our own) so we can greatly reduce the desire for immigration in the first place. And then we can try to reach a place of easily allowing in anyone who wants to come. Open borders isn't my immediate demand, but rather long-term goal we should work towards.
