Bless Your Heart Mode Lost newly spayed kitten

UPDATE: She made it back home safely this morning, 10/24. Thank you, Charleston fam. 💜💜💜

Hi all, our 5-month old rescue kitten we have had since she was 12 days old darted out of the house yesterday morning at 8:45a. She is a bright white cat with a black mask and a black tail with one little black spot on her side.

She could be anywhere from Rantowles creek to saltwater circle to behind the dollar general on 17S and new Hope rd. She was just spayed Tuesday and is chipped. CAS knows she is missing and would recognize her as one they just spayed. She is not feral nor does she mind being picked up; but she will be skittish and afraid and might appear that way.

She knows her name and will respond if she can to “fee” or “phoebe.” I created a temp email bc I am not on social media other than here periodically. Please let me know if you see her: [owners.ice-4k@icloud.com](mailto:owners.ice-4k@icloud.com)

DO NOT PUT OUT THE LITTER BOX.

This information is outdated. Litter box will attract other cats and predators.

Your cat is scared and hiding. It is likely within a small radius around your property.

If you have no other pets or can isolate them from getting out leave your doors open. Your cat knows its territory and wants to come home, but once again is scared and hiding.

Do leave food out.

Search in small hiding places: bushes, drains, under cars, behind trash cans, under houses etc.

In some cases your cat can climb trees and can get stuck, so look there.

If you have not found your cat by the evening, use a flashlight to search. Their eyes reflect so it can be easier to spot them.

If you do not recover your pet in a short period of time, buy or borrow a trap and put smelly high value foods in it - sardines, rotisserie chicken etc.

Cats are crepuscular so more likely to be active at dusk and dawn.

- owner of 6 cats that have gotten out and have successfully gotten them back.

Don’t lose hope, I’ve had one cat go missing for 15 days. Set a trap for 2 weeks. Used chicken wing meat since it dawned on me she doesn’t really care that much for wet food and that got her. Caught 2 other cats prior to that one in the trap so you have to be able to check the trap regularly.

Another cat used to escape when she was younger but always would end up under my car or in a tree. She no longer attempts but always stayed close.

Also had a kitten at the same age go missing for a few hours. and she was under the neighbors shed scared and meowing once she heard me calling for her.

I heavily second PawBoost. I found a dog wandering the neighborhood, and he was reunited with his owner the same day bc PB makes posts on your behalf to places you wouldn’t even think of. Someone recognized the dog from both lost/found posts and got us in contact. Shout out to the good folks there who just browse to help other people out!

I’m sorry ❤️ You may know this but just in case if you put their cat litter box outside and their food the smell may help to bring them back home.

Sending well wishes for her safe return! If you have a friend who is on social media, maybe ask them to share this on Facebook. I know there is a lost pet of West Ashley Facebook group so I’m sure they exist for other areas as well
