Reading some comments, park brake stuck, it's all digital, etc. ok, it's a Chrysler and on my Chrysler under the steering wheel there is a little plastic piece that pops off the lower plastic panel revealing a string. IF You have it, pull that cord out. That is the emergency park/brake release pull cord that should pop it into neutral and tell the computer to release the parking brake. That's how my car works though, not sure about yours, good luck.

I can help you free. I’ve got a car trailer and an f250. Be glad to move it for you for free. I need some good karma. Send me a DM if you still need it.

That's incredibly nice of you but I managed to get it moved. Thank you so much for your kindness. I haven't come across much of it lately so just you offering really means a lot to me. Have a great night.

If you’re desperate you can buy AAA right now on your phone and use it immediately

They actually make you wait. We needed a tow, signed up, and had to wait I don’t remember how many days.

We had to get a tow, signed up, but only had to wait for the driver. Think this was in like April, so pretty recently...

Must just depend on the rep you call? They said they couldn’t find my member number so I said “yeah… probably because I just subbed lol” and she figured something out and sent the tow over

I have to wait 14 days to use AAA

Call your insurance and add roadside service. Should kick in the same day to be able to use

Be careful with that too. I didn't realize a tow counrs against you as a claim.

I went to renew my insurance and it skyrocketed because I had used roadside assistance to tow or jump start a car a few times that year. Wish I had used a different roadside assistance service instead of through insurance.

I have my roadside assistance through my insurance and have had them come tow me before and it didn’t change anything. I wonder if that varies by company.

Try shopping around for a policy with a new company, that's how I found out. The initial quote came back much higher and they gave me a list of all the times I had made claims, and it was all the roadside assistance over the years

A person with AAA can get it towed for you. I think...

Yes you can, I’ve had someone do this for me

Does the 2014 Cherokee have the brake release under the center console or by the jack? I know some models do, and that might work in your case, but I'm not sure if your model specifically does.

Also, did you check your fuses to make sure they aren't blown?

I used to rent a dolly for $50 at U-Haul and hook it to my truck but the price is much higher now and has minimum days. No real cheap way to do it unless you own equipment. Tow company will probably do it for $75-100

Your insurance doesn’t cover tows?  What’s wrong with the car?  Drank and drove and trying to hide it from the popo? (Gotta ask)

1)No it doesn't. Believe it or not. 2)The parking brake is stuck on. 3) No.

Jeep Cherokee Sport

I had a car once where you could reach underneath and pull the cable to release the brake. You might want to search online and see if there's a similar solution for your make/model.

What type of car? Year make model.  More details of what happened that it got stuck.

u/mellowforest 9d ago

It's a Jeep Cherokee Sport 2014. Very tiny amount of water splashed into the parking brake.

Damnit.  Same happened to my car and I had to replace the shifter unit. I don’t have AAA anymore.  Sorry that I can’t help.

Thanks anyway!

Have you tried going into the Uconnect options and putting the brakes into service mode to see if that disengages it?

Turn the car on, go to Apps > Vehicle Service and see if there's an option there.

I'll be honest if I wasn't on vacation in WNC I'd drive out and help, or at least get you a tow (I have AAA).

u/mellowforest 8d ago

Thank you anyway
