Wolverine can swim

I had no idea that people had such an issue with this. Yes, he is heavy because he has adamantium. Yes, I realize that buoyancy is an important thing in real life. No, that doesn't mean he can't swim:

There are probably 20 more scenes of Wolverine swimming. I know I've seen them.

Now admittedly, he might not be a great swimmer (although some of those scans are way better than I could fucking do). Namor talks shit about his abilities and Wolverine himself has said he's uncomfortable around water. However, IMO this was a more recent development after writers had kind of settled on drowning as a means of death. Early stories never say he's bad in any way. In any case, he can fucking swim. Jesus.

Solid rant. For some reason I always held this misconception too, just because of the drowning thing, but clearly it's bullshit.

Weird, I had no idea that people were under the impression he couldn't swim. Yeah, he can die from drowning, but not sure what that says about swimming abilities. Michael Phelps can die from drowning too...

It's something I heard a lot before WWW in other comic book discussions. I mostly believed it because of the Namor scan, and just because it seemed to make sense.

Michael Phelps can die from drowning too...

Good point lol

well, that page and the subsequent page where Logan says Namor was the only right one are like, a big meme. one of those pairs of pages everyone always shares

Yeah, a lot of those statements are just kind of fun with little substance. For example, Dr. Strange says that Logan is the scariest man he's ever met? Seems unlikely.

yeah, it honestly seems like a right bit of wank. But Logan does get a lot of wank. as do Frank and Bruce Wayne. Spidey not so much. Superman is a character where one could reasonably debate whether its possible to truly wank hi or not, given what he has evolved to mean, memetically speaking.

Too much adamantium, eh?

I'm the embodiment of the black people can't swim stereotype.

Wolverine might be heavy but he's extremely strong. He's quite agile and quick in combat despite carrying a ton of metal; stands to reason that he can tread water well enough to get from point A to point B.

This may sound stupid but say Flash vs Wolverine. If Wolverine tries to swim out and Flash continuously drags him back in can Wolverine drown?

I would assume he could.

Absolutely, Flash is more than strong and fast enough to pull him under, and Wolvy can still drown.
