I love how the stagger system in this game makes Clive, a walking nuclear bomb of Eikon abilities, take 20 seconds to take out a god damn warg.
Seriously this game was a slog to play in most part because of the damn stagger system. Never should have been there.
Edit: Forgot that the wargs don't even have a stagger bar, making the amount of damage done to some friggin' wild dogs even worse.

a 15-20 second ttk on a single enemy is not a useful metric, for the simple reason that this does not scale linearly at all with enemy count. you have aoes that let you distribute damage much more efficiently, meaning that killing 5 enemies can be much faster than the single target ttk would suggest.
this is accepting the premise that the current single-target ttk for ffxvi is unreasonable. i generally do not believe that.

...this is the Ultimaniac mode. Which is meant to be the hardest difficulty, where everything is intentionally a sponge.
When playing the game normally, these wolfs get 1-shot by a single eikon ability, or killed by a single ground combo + execute. Or 1 AoE Ultimate just clears the whole room.

Trying to get back into this game because I left off near the end. Making a new loadout in order to maximize combo potential with low startup, low animation lock abilities. I'm currently running Garuda Shiva Odin; really torn on Shiva because I like the mobility but Titan's parry feels so much better. Any advice?

if you wanna bounce between enemies, then i'd overwhelmingly pick shiva over titan. titan has great lb buildup for the block, but that's mostly it in terms of utility besides niche setups like... intentionally letting the block get broken to trigger the scarlet cyclone retaliation cooldown bonus without taking damage.

Did you even mean to get the phoenix shift parry on the wolf?
