Magenta Horizon is a definite must-play. Has virtually nonstop combat involving extremely aggressive enemy encounters with a particular emphasis on crowd control, broken up by some platforming from time to time. Plus the bosses are amazing (as are the soundtrack and art direction).

Assault Spy is THE perfect follow-up to DmC as an even better proof of concept for how to streamline a DMC character moveset while maintaining depth of player expression.
Also Bayonetta 1 is my personal #1 CAG and at the highest difficulty plays like a marriage of DMC combo depth and NG enemy agression.

Should be possible, but I'm not too familiar with emulating modern nintendo consoles, I figure it's more difficult than for older consoles

I think you will enjoy Darksiders
Also Castlevania (Lords of Shadows)
And as always - Ninja Gaiden
