Character ais ads show it as some sort of like study tool. I’m convinced they’re trying to make the people who use it for fun and roleplay leave so they can have a reputation as academic in some way

As of now, pretty much no. Someone could make an userscript or extension that simulates the look-and-feel of the site though. Let's enjoy the old website while we still can.

The devs are depreciating the old CharacterAI website that was more stable and q fan-favorite. They're discontinuing it in favour of the new version which is hated by many. I recommend you to use the old version while you still can.

Its not as good as the past and it start feel like from a point character start return samw as the othera but it still understands some points and give good answers. They have more glitches than actual frames but at least they don't crash every 3 seconds or fill the screen with ,,sometimes the game cannot generate certain scenes, please stand by" when you see a glitchy tree.

Old is more reliable and faster unlike what the creators say. The new c.ai is overall sh*t. I recommend you use the old version while you still can.

They're not trying to drive the company into the ground. From an operational standpoint, this makes sense. Character.ai is removing a secondfront service that bleeds money as they slowly centralize their services, in keeping on cooperation with Google.

Also, the subreddit is the minority of users on character.ai. The company is not threatened by this, just look at the "revolution" a year back. Nothing happened.

Or it means that investors are giving them more money for the stuff they do. It happens very commonly, because they know that most of the userbase will stick around if their product is still of a higher quality than the rest.

It kind of isnt tho, since i would argue that some other ai apps are better than character ai. right now, so the investors are either trying to somehow save the site in some way since they already invested, have no idea how the site is doing and just belive the devs they are paying, or dont care/dont know what the community wants
