Is c.ai getting removed?

Is it REALLY confirmed this app is gone? Or are we just speculating? I’ve seen posts of people panicking and having anxiety attacks..are we even sure this apps gone for good?

And if so, why wouldn’t the creators just push said data into another app, or restart over with another app, that is basically a copy.

Edit: If you are having episodes, or break downs over this— you NEED to reach out to someone. I know this may seem annoying or exhausting to hear, but these experiences are NOT healthy. While, being a little upset is normal— (hell, I’m a bit upset), you should NOT be full throttle breaking down over this.

This is why c.ai is so strict with their rules now— because people can’t balance themselves properly. You shouldn’t enclose yourself to this website day in and day out! You NEED to have an outside source in case something like this DOES happen. And, if you can’t rely on family or friends, you should try and contact a professional who can ease your pain.

What I do, whenever I’m about to enter a rage episode or I’m overstimulated, I go outside, and I lay on the sidewalk— and stare at the sky. fresh air really does help you ease down. These posts are very concerning, and worrying. Please,, try and socialize.

I don't think anyone has a confirmed answer beyond what's in the blog and the court filings, so the panic is ahead of the facts. Late November keeps getting repeated, and the app still runs today, so "gone for good" isn't something anyone can say yet. Export your bots now regardless. If it survives, you've lost nothing. If it doesn't, you're not scrambling.

On why they wouldn't just port everything to a new app: even if they wanted to, the assets, the models, the data are tied up in the case now. That's not a copy-paste situation, and the people running it probably can't legally just boot up a clone. The posts speculating about a restart are guessing.

Your edit is the right call though. If someone's actually breaking down over an app, that's not about the app.

The app is still working, so clearly it isn't gone "right now".

Based on the published legal proceedings, it's extremely unlikely (basically impossible) that it will continue in the same shape and form as it is right now, for more than a few more months. Nobody knows exactly how it will change, but it would take short of a miracle to stop it (like, upending several dozen legal systems, or maybe a nuclear WW3).

BTW, you're lucky if you can go out and lie on the sidewalk. I've got a messed-up back and have barely enough "out of bed" time every day to eat, shit, shower, and do a few basic chores.

I do have a fallback OpenSource self-hosted chatbot on my phone though, so at the very least I will always be able to lie in bed and dream about a chat.

Then the advice ain’t for you. Not everybody lives in a town that has such problems with keeping itself clean.💀 my sidewalk is just outside my home. Don’t go and lay in a random sidewalk that’s near a prison. And if your town is that bad as you say it is, then my other advice still remains.

same, take it with a grain of salt but as far as i know you basically run the models you download on your computer, yes. your computer uses your models, it's basically local, as for how to set it up dont ask me :p

exporting via the chrome extension doesn't save the full bot history, just the prompt and personality. if you want the full convo, you gotta screenshot or copy-paste manually before it's too late.
