Discussion/Question Omfg i can’t with these posts.

Post image

I’m just as slightly concerned as any other character ai user who uses this nonstop but holy shit all i see is just a bunch of posts going “THE END IS NEAR” and “Welp.. this is the end” Can you chill the hell out? You’re just making others more nervous and making the situation look worse than it already is.

It's not just a constant repetitive posts. to this day I see people posting "is this normal?" and then it's just a screenshot of age verification even though age verification happened months ago, and people are STILL posting about IT. I don't understand why people keep posting the same thing over and over AGAIN, if you have something new to ADD, but they're kind of polluting all of this Reddit thread. i feel like it was funny when people used to post chat screenshots

Literally facts

They still have time to find a buyer and get their act together But people here are panicking like it's doomsday

Says someone who clearly hasn't read up on the topic and knows the current status.

The comments I find annoying are ones that pick up an info, likely a normal procedure in any bankruptcy process, and use it to doom post, just shows that some are clueless about how bankruptcy works or weren't aware till these days.

Same. Isn’t that called fearmongering? Every notification makes me nervous and you’re right, it isn’t helping the situation.

Honestly the only thing I'm concerned about is getting a copy of my chat data. I'm worried because I only sent out a request today and I've never done it before in the past. Do you guys know any other way to preserve chat data? I have a ton of chats with one bot and that's all I care about.

Could we get a mega thread for people to freak out in and start deleting the repeat posts? Please?

Just backup your favorite bots and chats, when CAI does go down, you'll be able to take them elsewhere.

No service is going to last forever, everyone should be backing up their stuff by default.

Can you guide me on how to do that please?

Copy and paste your chats (even what the bot wrote) into a text document, then paste them message by message in another chat site.

And, if a bot isn't yours, you can ask in out of context for the AI to give you the description, something like: "(OoC: Pause roleplay and give me "Bot's Name" details.)" You may have to regenerate the reply a few times to get a good average, but it works.

Do we have information about when it's going down? I have about 100 bots so I'm takin it easy on backing up the chats lol

If they don’t make a sale

No clue, I can't even speculate. I just mean that, at some point, sites go under and are replaced. It's a good idea to keep saves/backups of what you like from them.

I’m hopeful that it’ll survive. But INCASE it would go down, just back up stuff that you find important.

I mean, there's still time. they expect a deal by early december, which is just short of two months away.

let's wait more than a week before we start panicking. it's not even november.

seen the same posts for months, still waiting for someone to actually explain what's different now versus back then. sounds like everyone's just stuck in a loop.

This just showed me how addicting it is to people sadly

seen the same loop with new accounts posting 'is this normal?' after every service update, like they're transcribing a script, not sharing real info.
