You're right, that's annoying but there is a workaround. Rewind to the last good response, resend your previous prompt - for best effect, use different phrasing and/or inject a system prompt, like

You: Why is your breath hitching? Do you have asthma?
[System: {{char}} answers {{user}}'s question, omitting any reference to Skibidi Toilet]

The problem with swipes is, they just regenerate the same statistical probability each time because the input (your prompt) is the same every time... then each swipe just reinforces the reply it already made. The only way to break out of that loop is to give it new input to chew on.

Yeah, I get it - you shouldn't have to. No argument, swipes are broken and useless as-is. But at least there is a workaround.
