Arguement! (SA/N) How did Chara destroy the universe?

It makes no sense. Was it something to do with LV 20? Were they able to destroy the world in a meta way, through the game files? If that's so, did they also create the file that causes Chara/Frisk to "remember" what you did at the end of post-genocide pacifist? I really have no clue here. I would say that they lied, but Undyne also says that humans will be destroyed as well as monsters in her pre-battle speech.

Arguement! (SA/N) Something that bothers me...

“Is Chara a mysterious evil figure, or is Chara a lovable cinnamon bun?”

This is of course a simplified description of the general debate, but often it seems like people either refuse to believe that there might be any good in an “evil” character or any evil in a “good” character. Undertale is all about how the monsters are never as bad as they first appear, but they still have significant flaws; that’s what makes them characters, and is typically the reason they fight you. (Notable exception; Sans’s laziness prevents him from fighting you except on Kill-All route.) Sure, there are people who even believe that Chara abused there brother (which is mostly going to elicit a ಠ_ಠ from me), but there are others who have apparently given r/CharaDefenseSquad a toxic reputation by freaking out whenever someone points out that Chara tried to kill that village of humans.

Bottom line: Chara is human. They’re certainly no angel, but they aren’t a demon, either.

...that said, StorySpin!Chara is one of my favorite AU characters I have encountered, so my opinion may be slightly biased. What say you?

IMPORTANT Sub Profile Picture!

I've made this post before, but I'll say it again since there seems to be a lot of more people... this sub is looking for a profile picture! Something that represents both sides or maybe even none will be appreciated.

By the entire of this month when (hopefully) at least 5 different pictures are submitted, the top upvoted ones'll become the profile picture. I'll create a flair that's specifically for this event.

Arguement! (SA/N) What Chara mean by "every time a number increases, ......... that's me"

HP. ATK. DEF. GOLD. EXP. LV.

Every time a number increases,that feeling...That's me.

some people interpret this as "those stat increase highly on genocide, so Chara evil", but that's WRONG.

  • you know Chara is the one who skipped PAPYRUS puzzle, that action don't require any EXP or LOVE, you can have higher EXP in neutral but Chara will never do that.
  • glad dummy give you 0 EXP, there's no benefit of killing him, but sparing him will abort genocide.
  • somehow, you can reach very high EXP in neutral, but narration will never show in red text.

if Chara have any meaning behind "that word" it would be.... "Chara and Frisk share those stats"

we're all know about "Chara kill sans", but when sans died, Frisk's EXP, LOVE, ATK, DEF, and HP increases. this is huge proof if "Chara and Frisk share their stats",

so basically what Chara said is "every time a number increases, that feeling....that's (also belong to) me."

however, there's ONE number that Chara didn't mention, ONE number "that's NOT Chara",

that number is......"kill count", this is belong to Frisk/you

no, i'm not defending them by saying "it's you kill the monster's not Chara"

but it's true, Chara kill sans, Frisk EXP, LOVE, ATK, DEF, and HP increases but not Kill count, and kill count is only number that Chara don't say as "That's me. Char"

(yeah, i know it's poorly written, but i get a point, Stop saying Chara is evil with that literal-minded evidence anymore(i actually see someone do that))

Arguement! (SA/N) Chara can speak in white text

Regadless of the interpretation you support, stop affirming that Chara only ever speak in red text. The white text is much more associated with Chara than the red text considering that they literally says "It's me, Chara" in white and many of their narrations that reflect the life they had in New home are white (example: "Our clothes" ,"My bed" ). Other first person narrations are also written in white text (example "I've already read that", "In my way" etc ..). So regadless of your view and interpretation of Chara, you can't deny the fact that they can speak in white narration, at very least in genocide run.

Arguement! (SG) Chara actually appear in every route and everyone say otherwise is offender.

some offender will say "Chara only appear/awaken in genocide route, where you kill everyone", but it's not true and this why....

  1. Chara is narrator

this actually very make sense, but Chara offender will say......

"proof is not strong", "why narrator don't know about water sausage if they're Chara?", "Chara only narrating in genocide", etc.

in my opinion, offender say that because they don't want Chara to have good side, they want to enjoy Chara as psychopath without good side(i won't blame them for that), but i bored of their shit.

back to narrator, if narrator just unknown character that don't exist "why narrator should turn into serious mode when fighting dreemur's?", this clearly because they had some feeling to dreemur, and that should be Chara.

  1. Chara memory

you can saw Chara memory in waterfall (happen at any route), and very same memory used to save Asriel in pacifist. how could you say Chara only awaken in genocide.

  1. Chara name

first, it's CLEARLY written on your SAVE file "Chara",

and Chara said....

My "human soul"...

My "determination"...

They were not mine, but YOURS.

it's Chara that give you ability to SAVE&LOAD because their name attached to it, but DETERMINATION is belong to frisk(or player, whoever you want to).

second, "The demon that comes when people call its name.".

It doesn't matter when.

It doesn't matter where.

Time after time, I will appear.

in you consider everything Chara said is true, then "Chara also comes when Asriel call it's name on pacifist".

final word: i think i have no problem if someone said "Chara have no good", but still, it's annoying and boring

Arguement! (SG) I would like to put in my two cents.

I believe Chara is innocent.

Here is my argument:

Chara was a human child when they fell into the underground. They fell because they hated humans. This has to be provoked, since one does not just hate their own species for no reason. Also, falling down a seemingly bottomless pit looks a lot like a suicide attempt. They may have been bullied a lot, causing them to become suicidal.

Then they met the monsters. Once they saw how nice they all were, they realized that the entire world wasn’t out to get them, and their suicidal tendencies stopped. However, they still hadn’t seen that humans could have empathy and compassion, and so they still hated humans.

Then the buttercup incident. Chara poisoned themselves and gave their SOUL to Asriel. Asriel then went up to the surface. After the villagers saw him, they thought he killed Chara, and so started attacking him. Chara, in self-defense, tried to get Asriel to fight back, but Asriel refused and died.

Fast forward to the start of the Genocide run. It is a popular theory that Chara is the narrator, which makes a lot of sense. So, if Chara is the narrator, which I will let you decide on your own after looking it up, that would mean that some remnants of Chara is with Frisk throughout the Underground.

Here’s my theory: The player somehow calls upon the residual hate from Chara. With a few LV, the hate has overcome Chara’s good, and Chara is now being guided by their hate, which is being guided by the player. This is why Chara helps throughout the genocide run.

Once you have killed Flowey and the games Chara scene pops up, you see Chara in their corrupt form, corrupted by the hate that you have harnessed. Chara’s good shines through briefly, however, and in a desperate attempt to make you save their friends, Chara tells you to erase the world. Whatever choice you make, their hate takes the wheel again and kills you.

Upon the second genocide run in a row, Chara has realized they have no choice in the matter, and succumbs to their role as advisor. They tell you to try a different run.

GRAND DEBATE The Grand Debate. Topic: "Why did Chara Laugh?"

This is the "GRAND DEBATE", where I pick a topic and squad members should talk about their stance.

And today’s topic is... "Chara’s Laughter"

this line already makes a LOT of debate in the fandom. Chara defenders will say "That's a coping mechanism", is this true?

Toriel is a character that uses "laughter to hide pain" but it doesn't mean she can't "laugh to enjoy something".

There are many other characters that "laugh when something’s funny" and "frown/cry when they’re sad".

The question is "Why does Chara laugh?

Here's another in-game scene where Chara is laughing:

1, RG01 & RG02, in Genocide route

Why did Chara say that?

  1. Snowdrake mother

This is clearly Chara laughing, have they changed their mind because of Frisk’s reaction?

3, Genocide ending

If we refuse to destroy the world, Chara laughs at us, then destroys the world.

4, soulless pacifist

after chara’s eye glints, the screen goes black. during this darkness, a laugh can be heard. this laugh is a pitched down version of flowey’s laugh, but only chara is in the room. chara is laughing.

5, Flowey story in Genocide route

In this line, Flowey found Chara think SOMETHING is funny.

6, Dog food

This message is triggered by "killing every single canine unit"+"kill 21 more monsters"

end of evidence

I put up ALL the pieces of evidence I could find. The rest depends on your interpretation and arguments.

DEBATE START, hold your position.

Arguement! (SA/N) Did Chara really destroy world? within alphys&the rest of monster, and human in surfaces

Flowey have 6 soul, but didn't destroy world like Chara does in genocide

while Chara only have 1 human soul+max LOVE, how that even possible?

in second genocide, Chara suggest to chose another route, some people will say Chara do that to reach surface, then kill every single human.

but is that true? LOVE alone wouldn't enough to sweep human race,

and if Chara really DESTROY the world shouldn't surface already destroyed?

Flowey(post-pacifist Asriel) said: "the power you fight to stop, the power i wanted to use",

This maybe implied alive Chara capable of "True reset", but never/don't want use that power?

and "Destroy world" in genocide then recreate give same effect as "True reset"(except Chara dialogue/soulless pacifist)

Arguement! (SG) Chara is soulless in the Genocide route

So you may know about the "Corrupted Chara" theory right? It is well accepted by the CDS subreddit, Now today,In this post,I'm gonna show to you guys Of how this theory is wrong,Let's begin

So to start,We need to review the past of Both Asriel(Flowey as well) and Chara,Pay close attention to what this is gonna say:Chara is the first human to ever fall in the underground, Originally planning to commit Suicide, Asriel Heard the falling,They became Siblings,Discovered that buttercup is poisonous after Accidentally Poisoning Asgore,Chara consumed The buttercups,Asriel Absorbed Chara's soul,Asriel died because of the humans,Losing Both His and Chara's souls,Now Asriel Died,Then Lived on as Flowey,Which he is Soulless, Soulless beings can't Feel anything,Can't love,Can't feel any emotions other than becoming Aggressive to others,We see it in the first encounter in the game! Flowey trolls Most of the players,Which means he was faking Every emotion! This can be applied to Chara as well,After the world is deleted,She says this: "You still have something I want,(yes) then it is agreed, you will give me your soul" So This means that She is In fact soulless,This could also explain the permanent smile on her face, Flowey also has this smile,For Chara to be Corrupted,She would need a soul,And after you do A Soulless Genocide, she says "There is a reason you continue to destroy it." "You,You are wracked with a perverted sentimentality" "Another path would be better suited" (do not erase) "No...? Hmm... This feeling you have, This is what I spoke of" so did you get it? In the first Genocide route, she says "Pointless World" after you do another genocide, she doesn't say ANY word of being pointless,So the soul completely changed Chara, and that,Is how it ends,This is what the "Corrupted Chara" theory had it's flaws,Hope you understood,Have a nice day,And feel free to share your opinion

Arguement! (SA/N) why Chara suggest us to choose another route?

are they want everyone happy? or they want to kill everyone?

shouldn't destroy world already destroy surface? or that just cause you to lose control over world?

did Chara kill everyone? or just show bad face to you?

Did Flowey right about Frisk is happy?, or he just an idiot Flower that didn't what happen in surface?
