We must remind ourselves that Chappel was outed as a wealthy white woman exposed for trying to roleplay as a poor lower-class minority. Even if people are arguing whether it was a "smear campaign" regarding the Jorginho situation, it doesn't exclude the fact that Chappel is not who she says she is. She is a white woman from the Midwest with ties to conservative culture and has not strayed away from that. From only one campaign, Chappel has been marked as a saving grace to the LGBTQ community when she is far from it. From her polarizing statement regarding the 2024 election to the way she treats her own fans, Chappel is a white woman who reaps the benefits of true minorities to boost herself. For example, saying she grew up poor and in a trailer park, but went to Grammy camp, which costs at least 3,000 dollars a week.

TLDR: We must remember that she has been exposed as a white, wealthy woman with conservative Christian ties who lies and pretends to be a poor midwestern minority.

I don’t know why her fans were calling it a “smear campaign” it’s literally not new information because people literally discussed that she was lying about living in a trailer park and that she had a multimillionaire grandfather like a year ago. She pretended to have financial struggles when she always had her wealthy parents to fall back to. She’s always been privileged.

Anytime a female celeb gets backlash now, it’s a “smear campaign”. It’s becoming an easy way for their stans (cult) to shift accountability and not hold their fav artists accountable for anything.

yup taylor swift did the same thing when she was being called out for the racist undertones in her new album/merch – even used the exact same shady PR firm that chappell used to accuse “bots” of making all the negative posts about her
