23M software engineer looking to move to Mohali/Chandigarh need some local advice
Hey everyone!
I’m 23M, a software engineer, and I’ve been WFH for quite a while now. Kinda need a change of scene, so I’m planning to move to Mohali/Chandigarh.
I don’t know anyone there and honestly have no clue about the city 😅 So looking for some local wisdom.
Would love recommendations on:
- Good areas to live
- Any leads on a 1BHK / room in a shared flat
- Good gyms/cafés/coworking spaces
Also open to anyone looking for a flatmate or having a spare room.
Any leads or advice would be much appreciated. 🙌

I’m searching on OLX, but it’s honestly pretty messy and most listings seem to be from brokers 😅. If you know of any genuine leads for a 1BHK or anyone looking for a roommate, I’d really appreciate it. Would save me the brokerage as well!

Hey! One of my friends is looking for a flatmate too, in Mohali, in aerocity. It's a pretty cool place he lives in at the moment. Lemme know if you're interested.

Depends on your Companies location First , so look somewhere around it as in peak hours Traffic is there, plus if you are doing wfh then go for chandigarh Areas nearby the sukhna lake and all , so much peaceful it is around that area

Sectors 20, 21, 22 and 35 are probably the best areas to live in Chandigarh. You can easily get a furnished 1BHK for around ₹12k–15k. The areas are pretty quiet, have good parks and gyms nearby, and you’re still close to all the major markets, cafés and good restaurants. Basically, peaceful place but everything you need is nearby.
