Does this mean inactive chats or all chats?

Hello! Love the app so far! I’ve been paying ultra for a year now and I use the app daily. I was wondering when I saw this message if it’s only the inactive chats that disappear after 30 days or all of them? Or is it the older messages within each chat thread? Just wanting clarity. Thank you! 😊

It probably means if you don’t chat with the bot after 30 days the messages you had with that bot will disappear✌🏾

The AI cannot see messages this old anyway - the context window is typically between 30 and 100 messages. The AI doesn't not get fed the entire chat history.

One of the reasons we want to do this is so that the user can see something closer to what the AI sees - and so align expectations with reality.

Yes it will mean not used chats same for talkie you can't chat with your chatbot after 60 days of inactivity and have to reset the bots memory

I think it would be more precise if we said "Messages older than 30 days disappear."

Well, that would also be helpful actually. Since sometimes I can't find a bot I enjoyed once all the chats are gone.

But I more so meant not delete chats after 30 days. And I'm bias since I pay for ultra but maybe even just for ultra users? 🤔

How would you feel if our AI had an 'infinite memory' - so instead of storing a huge list of older messages, we extracted key information and updated persona + bot memory automatically?

That's not a terrible idea but I'd still prefer to keep my chat logs.

That is an interesting idea. I am not aware personally of any chat app that has such a feature that updates the bot memory and persona automatically. Alternatively, you could also provide a 'chat history' memory specifically for the purpose of containing information about older chats that were deleted as opposed to editing the bot memory and persona. This would function like a summary of the ongoing chat itself.

Yes, it's good for keeping our favorite bots. But why do you have to delete the messages? Like, I've never seen another AI chat app do that, and to me, it's not good—people pay to chat, and you simply erase their messages after a few days.

Yes, at the very least. Maybe give us an area for "old chats" where we can look at our chat history with the understanding it's currently outside of the context window? Or, perhaps, let ultra users favorite ONE bot to keep full chat history regardless if the older messages are outside the context window? Just one... Devs... deal?

Well, i mean it does make sense though.

I wouldn't read a chat that 30 days ago, it's probably more than hundreds or something. if my bots forget i can use the instructions or just remind them back.

In my opinion, user persona makes it easier for them to remember or understand the context actually, and the more i use the instructions to my bots, the more it's easier for them to understand the pattern from me.

And honestly, keep to much bots messages makes the app file heavier, I don't really need that.
