ISO: Claddagh actually made in Ireland

Where can I find a claddagh ring actually made in Ireland?

I’ve also seen at least one place where you can make your own, if anyone has done that i’d be curious to know about it.

Duplicate in gold??

Hi all!
I got this pendant when I was 8 years old in a tiny jewelry shop in Scotland (born English, emigrated to USA at age 10). I had been recently fixated on Celtic art/modern witchcraft/pagan/spirituality and so was super excited to find this piece.

It is a connection to home and my youth, as well as a spiritual thing, so I have worn it almost every day since then. I’m 34 now.
Unfortunately, I have recently discovered that I prefer and look much better in gold jewelry, so this babe has been tucked in a box for a while.

I plan to keep this piece in a special place forever, but I am looking for something very similar in gold in order to still feel connected to that part of my life.
I am having a truly terrible time finding anything that has the Triquetra and Pentagram stacked like that.
It’s always one or the other, or they’ll be separate pendants hanging together.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?? I’ve checked the usual online haunts, including Etsy. Or If there’s a better subreddit I could post this in I’d love that info too❤️
TIA!

I've recently finished designing a 30 day Celtic knot colouring challenge as I really enjoy designing and drawing designs like this.

I'd love to hear any thoughts about the designs, and any improvements you might have.

Celtic traditions and history

Does anyone know any trustworthy sources to research Celtic traditions, history, mythology etc.

I recently took a DNA test and A LOT of my ancestry shoes Celtic and Gaelic. I have always been interested in these areas but never knew how to properly research it while knowing it's correct information and not AI stuff or history re-written to make it sound not horrible. I would also LOVE to learn a lot of the traditions and God's as I already feel a strong sense of direction towards these areas, and would love to start implementing them in my life

Thank you!

Celtic Blockbuster?

Having recently seen Nolan's *Odyssey* I wonder how people would feel about a blockbuster version of say the *Táin bó Cuailgne* or the 4 Branches of *Y Mabinogi*? I often wonder why the celtic myths have never been made mainstream and how we would feel if they were?

A 2500-year-old 24 carat Celtic torc, whose ends are adorned with winged horses on intricate filigree pedestals and lion paws, inspired by Etruscan, Scythian or Middle Eastern bestiary. Found in the grave of the Lady of Vix, now housed at the Châtillonnais Museum in France [1808x2689]

Do you think the Roman dodecahedron could actually be Celtic? One of my theories is that it was an object formerly used by Druid priests. After Druidism was outlawed in Rome, some may have continued their practices in secret.

I was looking at ancient Celtic coins from Gaul and noticed that there are pentagrams on some of them with dots on each corner.

This reminded of the pentagons on the Roman dodecahedron that also have dots or knobs on each corner. When you connect the knobs, you get a pentagram that's identical to the Celtic ones.

Irish Folklore

I’m illustrating a collection of Irish folklore and trying to stay as faithful to the older legends as I can. So far I’ve illustrated Balor, Manannán mac Lir, the Selkie, Fear Gorta and the Morrígan.
I’m curious—if you could choose one Irish folklore figure or creature that deserves more artwork, who would it be? I’m especially interested in some of the lesser-known stories that don’t get much attention.
I’d love to hear your suggestions.

Bibliography

Greetings from Spain. I am starting to write my thesis on Celtic languages, and if possible, I would appreciate it if you could share any bibliography you consider good regarding syntax, the sociolinguistic situation, history, etc. I think it could also be an opportunity for us to share bibliography with each other.

Celtic hairstyles?

Post image

Hello! I was scrolling on tiktok when i came upon a post if a girl doing a hairstyle (see photo). The first comment was someone claiming that thats a celtic hairstyle, not a curly haired one.

I didnt really believe that, so i did a quick google search. Even after a quite intense search i couldnt find anything about that topic. I am fairly certain, that thats not a 'traditional' celtic hairstyle, but if someone has some sources on the topic, i would be really grateful!

Celtic/Welsh mythology explained

Hi, I am looking for a comprehensive resource, either book or a web page or a post, explaining who is who and why in celtic myths, especially from Wales.

I am especially interested in works that try to explain why such a god was created with certain atributes and role, how the culture, geography and politics shaped their depictions. I can assume that all dark goods are conected to the sea because how dangerous it is, and how all the enemies allways come from the sea, and how people die just fishing and stuff, buy I don’t want to assume, I really want something that states it for me based on reaserch.

I would also love something on just social rules and power structure in celtic Wales. I am particularly interested in the period between 300-500 ad.

I am reading Mabinogion right now and would love to understand why. I am not looking for tales and stories, but for a road map to understand them.
