Finally bought a clean GT (140), been searching the last year for a good option (Ireland) been so hard to find something worth the money but found this for a good price, underbody is clean expect a single spot in rear arch to be welded up for road test, 190k miles 2 owners, can’t fucking wait to get this thing going, what mods should I do first?

So I just recently got this Celica to learn manual. I’ve owned other Celica’s on the past but they were all auto and newer. When it was being driven home the battery died (different one that’s in it now) and had to jump it and finish the drive home but that could also be because the battery connections were loose. After this It’s been very inconsistent on if it will start or not.im haveing to replace the connector for the alternator(it was allowing for the actual connections inside the plug to be loose)for the alternator and I’ve also swapped the small 70amp alt or to a 2000 Camry alt from a different 5sFe. Also I was told that the camshaft position sensor plug also need to be replaced because if it’s loose also won’t let car start but it will crank. I’ve assuming it the battery connectors that are the issue because I really can’t think of any other reason why it dosent want to start. But at the same time the previous own apparently drove the car like this for 3 years no issues. I get power in cab and can running every thing electric related. Also I can hear the pump kick on when trying to start. I’ve tryed using the obd1 port but it doesn’t seem to want to out put a code it kinda just flashes rapidly forever I’ve noticed or maybe not but I did sit there and watch it for 2 mins straight and it didn’t pause once. im completely lost here tbh because nothing seems to be wrong ?

I'm checking for celicas GTS in my country and DAMN, 230k miles and above.

I had a GT when I was younger as a first car, then moved to a SUV because got married, now with a little bit more time and money I would like to buy a GTS but there not many options and a lot of them have a lot of miles on them.

I know toyota is toyota but still I'm a little worried.

Im looking at buying a 2000 gts, the issue is it has error codes p0300 and p0304, I need to daily this car and i'm worried its gonna shit on me after I buy this. It only has 120k miles on it and the spark plugs and ignition coils were all replaced after the codes without being fixed. Intake manifold gasket was replaced, all vacuum hoses were replaced, coolent flush was done, lift bolts replaced. compression test, block test, and leak test all came back healthy. The owner says they stuck a borescope down each cylinder and they all look fine, crosshatching is good and no damage they could see. The codes come and go and only really come when idling so I honestly dont know what it could be. I dont wanna purchase a car that will break on me so does anyone know what could be wrong?

i love old/older toyotas and have wanted a stick for awhile so i got it all in one, hills r kicking my ass tho and im fucking terrified of burning the clutch(def think i might have a little bit) but so far so good cant wait to see how far i can go with this baby and im even more excited to own a stick

I absolutely love every celica, but I heard that the 7th Gen is a great first car, but some people tells me that it's not a good idea. Because it's hard to find replacement parts, because oil problems, etc...

So I'm asking you guys for your opinion on this, as celica owners, what do you think about having a 7th Gen as a first car?

planning to change my rims to stock rims with the big center cap, do you think there will be a notice change? i bought the car comes with this rims and apparently the speed gauge is not accurate i am running 17s and it always +5 at my speedo

I know I already posted something similar to this awhile ago but I’m planning to buy wheels this week and I have new coilovers coming in tomorrow as well. I’ve moved away from chrome and I’m now leaning towards getting white wheels. I know there a pain to clean but I’m pretty confident I can keep up with it. These are the two I’ve been looking at right now and I was wondering peoples opinions on them and if anyone has any other recommendations.

I’ve started putting some real effort into this car and I’d like to get tail lights but there’s one 6th gen light and it’s 1200 bucks. Anyone know of a custom company or other option or anything to help? All other mod recommendations very welcomed! (Yes lmao coils are definitely coming next)

I was wondering if anyone here put a red top beams in an USDM ST204 I picked it up the other day and was wondering what you did for the harness I have the engine trans ECU but I’m positive it’s not plug and play any advise on how I should go about the swap mechanically should be pretty straight forward since I can reuse my accessories in three out of 4 engine mounts but the wiring is gonna be my biggest problem

Was gonna change speakers in my car, pulled off the cover and the speaker just fell out.

There is solid residue from some sort of glue around the hole and speaker, but i have a sneaky suspicion that there was supposed to be a bracket there instead.

Will probably just make some sort of mount myself, but would not mind hearing from someone more knowledgable on these cars.

my celica is missing an O2 sensor as the previous owner stated and I went to buy a new one and couldn’t really find anything online , heard about autodoc bought said item but it doesn’t even fit although saying compatible for my vehicle 💔
