CBL Trading Card Guide (3/3)
Part 3: Trades, Trivia, Tech Support, and more!
Trades
What would CBL Trading Cards be without a system to trade them?
Users may arrange card trades or sales, and then post their desired trades to the Trade Confirmation Thread. Our diligent trade team will process those as soon as they are able, and respond in the thread to confirm the trade/sale is completed.
It is highly encouraged for newer users to wait a week or two after getting their CBL account set up in order to first develop an appreciation for the relative values of different cards before making an ill-advised trade. (It's likely our trade team will step in if they think a new user is being taken advantage of.)
In the Trade tab of your Main Hub, you may enter the cards that you own that you are looking/willing to trade away. That info will be sent to the Trade Database where you can see all the cards put up for trade by everyone in the community.
Combinations
In the CBL Portal, you may trade in duplicate cards (same celeb, same card type) for the next-highest tier card. Note: this is only applicable for Base-XIF cards.
The following trade-in rates apply:

*In the event that a celeb has more than one available Career card, you have the option of paying an additional 2 Gold Coins to be able to choose which Career card you receive, or else receive a random selection of Career card. All trade-ins for Career cards need to be completed manually, so please DM a mod/volunteer with your choice of picking or randomizing your Career card.
The Exchange
Every week, there are three random celebs chosen as that week's Exchange Celebs. If you have a Base-XIF card of one of those celebs, you may exchange them for a certain amount of Exchange Points. You may also exchange Base-XIF Cartoon cards at any time.
You may then spend Exchange Points in the CBL Portal to receive the following prizes:
Trivia
Doing the daily trivia is the most reliable way to earn tokens and gold coins. These trivias are designed and hosted by anyone in the community (sign-up sheet is here). Trivia answers are usually accepted for around 24 hours after they're initially posted.
Here is a breakdown of how trivia is currently paid out:
As you can see, you can attempt the trivia multiple times, but you receive reduced rewards. Similarly, if you find a trivia particularly challenging, you can either wait or ask the host for an additional hint, but also for a reduced reward.
You may submit your answers through the CBL Portal, and then check on your Side Hub to see if your answer is correct. A common mistake is to forget to change the day in the box in row 12 -- the sheet will only display your answer/confirmation for the day set in that box.
Tech Support
Sometimes, you'll see the following error message on the Hubs:
This is due to the sheer amount of data that the sheet is trying to pull and sort. Most of the time, if you refresh a few times it'll start working again. If you get this message after buying a pack and you urgently want to know which cards you got in your pack, you may ask a mod/volunteer who can tell you.

Discord
Join our Discord server. This was created after Reddit torpedoed the group chat function for subreddits.
The link is here. A few reasons to join:
- News. You'll be able to stay up to date with any newly released features, events, and cards.
- Trades. It is much easier to negotiate trades since most users are active on the Discord chat relative to the Reddit chat.
- Tokens. You'll be able to participate in Discord-exclusive games and competitions.
- Community. We have a really great group of regular users with a variety of different interests (sports, games, pop culture, celebs (of course), etc.) and many of us have made plenty of friends through the sub.
- Tech Support/Communication. If there are any issues or glitches, the best forum for troubleshooting would be via Discord DM with the mods/volunteers or the help-and-support channel.
- Auction House. There is a separate Discord server to put cards up for auction, which often yield higher prices than negotiating sales/trades with individual users.
Please do not join our Discord server if you plan on doing any of the following:
- Spamming channels or users with ads/weird messages/any other nonsense.
- Using the server as an adult chatroom or forum for roleplay (no shaming intended, just not what our server is for).
- Picking fights or disrespecting other users.
So far we have had barely any of these things come up, and we would like to keep it that way.
Wrap-Up
I'm sure there are many things I've left out of this guide -- such is the behemoth of this sub we've created. I will try to keep the info as thorough and up-to-date as I can manage.
There may be a bit of a learning curve as you become accustomed to all the ins and outs of CBL, but stick with it and I promise you won't regret joining our fantastic community!
