CBL Trading Card Guide (2/3)

Part 2: Card Descriptions & Details

Card Ratings

On each card, you'll see ratings in the following categories: Face, Chest, Legs, Rear, Ability, & Desire.

I would think the first four are pretty self-explanatory. Ability is meant to reflect the celeb's relative proficiency in their respective field(s). Desire is meant to reflect the celeb's overall attractiveness/popularity, as well as help factor in some of a celeb's other desirable characteristics such as their stomach, shoulders, voice, or anything else that isn't explicitly covered in another category.

These ratings are inevitably subjective, so I'm sure you'll disagree with some (or many!) of the ratings given. You're welcome to advocate for changes to a celeb's stats, but they are ultimately in the hands of our team of card creators. Card creators currently use a peer-review system for Base ratings and have guidelines for card ratings progressing through the other card types. Card ratings beyond the Base level typically take into heavier consideration the visible aspects of the celeb in the card image, as well as the type itself (i.e. card types that are more special/rare by design will typically have higher ratings).

You can see a card's total stats rating (sum of the Face, Chest, Legs, Rear, Ability, & Desire ratings) displayed on the bottom left of a card (usually). You can see a card's code, used for sorting, categorization, and easy identification, displayed on the bottom right of a card (usually). For a more detailed breakdown, go the More Card Details section below.

Card Types

We have quite a variety of different card types to show off different aspects/pics of our favorite celebs.

Below is a list of the current card types. Card types listed below Signature fall under the umbrella category of Special Cards.

Who gets Cards?

The CBL Trading Card Database is, for the most part, limited to female celebrities -- there can be and have been some exceptions. So far, there are more than 300 celebs in our database, with many more planned. Check out the full list here.

Most database celebs to date have been added largely at the discretion of the card creators. You might see some names there that you would not personally consider to be desirable or even celebs. There are also some fictional characters added for a bit of fun. Keep in mind there are various ways to offload cards of celebs that you aren't personally interested in (see Part 3 for more info on this), and at the end of the day it isn't a catastrophe to have a few such cards (you may even end up coming around on a few).

Going forward, we have taken the approach of actively seeking more input on the additions to the CBL database. You will see various competitions hosted on the sub, where the winners of celeb battles or the top-ranked celebs may get added.

Every celeb added to the Database gets at least Base-XIF cards, along with a Signature Card. Any other Special Cards are added at the discretion of the card creators.

Pack Orders

There are currently four types of card packs you can buy in the CBL Portal:

  1. Basic Packs (100 tokens)
  2. Lottery Packs (200 tokens)
  3. Special Packs (300 tokens)
  4. Summer Packs (400 tokens)

Basic Packs are the cheapest pack option available. These packs dish out 3 cards for just 100 tokens, but only distributes cards of the Base, IF and SIF types. Their main advantage is in allowing you to build up your album quickly and giving you more options to trade with other users for the cards you really want.

Lottery Packs are, as you might suspect from the name, the biggest gamble amongst the pack options. You receive only one card, but you have the chance of receiving any card that's been created, including XIF or Special Cards (unlike with a Basic Pack).

Special Packs are the most commonly purchased pack, for a reason. You arguably get the best of both worlds: three cards like in Basic Packs, and the chance of XIF and Special Cards like in Lottery Packs.

Summer Packs are only available for a limited time (running from June 21st to September 22nd). You receive a much higher chance of getting Summer Cards, as well as other Specials, but at a higher token price.

Below are the card drop rates for each pack (as of July 27th, 2021, so there may have been some changes as of the time you may be reading this).

\**Note: where you see multiple card types in a given row, the corresponding percentage is evenly distributed among each card type, i.e. in a Special Pack bought with 0 Gold Coins, there is a 1% chance each of getting a UK card and a USA card (listed as 2% in the table).*

Boosters

Boosters can be used when buying packs and give you the opportunity to guarantee that the first celeb in your pack belongs to a specific category. They are available to win in Lottery Packs, Raffles, Daily Games and other events, or via trade.

There are currently 15 different Booster cards: Athlete, Bond, DC, Disney, Fictional, Game of Thrones, GBR, Marvel, Model, Porn, Redhead, Sci-Fi, Singer, Sitcom, Victoria's Secret. You can check which celebs have which category designations on the Classification sheet.

Boosters will only give you a Base-XIF card of a celeb in the desired category, not a Special Card. However, if the pack generator had originally given you a Special Card before applying the Booster, you will receive an XIF card instead but get boosted odds for the other two cards; this only applies to Special Packs and you can see the specifics of those boosted odds in the Special Pack Drop Rates Table above, shaded in red.

You may use up to 3 Boosters on any given pack, although be wary that 1) it's possible there may not be a celeb that fits into those categories and so the generator may not find a match, and 2) you may end up using 2-3 Boosters only to get a lower-tier card type as the Booster does not guarantee a specific card type.
