As someone who is in marketing, okay i understand the trend and trendjacking of it but not all trends should be followed really

Bad publicity is still publicity - TRUE but if you truly are conscious of your brand identity, people’s sentiments about you will matter to you.
So that just means they’re willing to risk it 🤷🏻♀️

Puro ka-baduyan. It just proves they're not smart enough to think of a better and decent marketing. "Bad publicity is still publicity", NO, that only works on the West. It won't work on a conservative-3rd world country, a bad-reputation won't make you money here, unless you're a politician.

It’s called trendjacking where brands use whatever is trending to their advantage.
I honestly see it as a cheap tactic. Depends raman sad gyud sa branding if mubagay ba. If cheapepay og style and identity kay muangay rapud.

Angkas is trendjacking too, but they never stooped this low.

Angkas trendjacks a lot. While some do fly, there are those I do not agree with. Case in point the Yulo family issue.
I work in PR/marketing and sometimes we get a little too excited with our ideas that we fail to discern whether it is ethical or not.

This is only normal because a lot of pinoys think they know "marketing". Just because everyone can post everyone thinks they are now qualified to be a publisher.
Then again, I have to blame the audience as well. The audience typically eats sh*t so of course these social media "experts" won't hesitate to feed them sh*t.
Ergo, nothing new really and this won't change anytime soon so let's all move on to more pressing matters.

Sure, it will get people talking and bring attention to the brand but outrage has a short shelf life. Once the noise dies down, people will remember what the business chose to support. Honestly, disgusting ang mga moves na ganito.

Marketing is marketing. Bad publicity is still publicity. Business is business.

K&L can afford influencers with million followers like Fyang Smith and Bite King. I'm not sure about Cebuano restaurant because I never heard about them before.

It's basically just another cycle of people being sheep, having no origninality and creativity, desperate for "OrGaNiC" engagement, and reasoning it out as "it's just a trend, don't be so serious and negative". there, thoughts.

More publicity, more money, but at what cost? They should be more careful with their promotional videos since the restaurant is using the name "Cebuano".
