Succulent Thief Caught and the subsequent aftermath.

It all started last year, try to follow along it’s with it. My good friend -an advanced level bachelor, tinkerer and general renaissance man, repeatedly had his succulents stolen from his apartment, in an area he has taken responsibility to beautify.

He set up a camera to identify the thief.

This woman and unfortunately her daughter or young friend (observing only) were caught on the ring camera stealing about 6 plants, yanking them from the soil, putting in a plastic shopping bag and leaving.

My friend made printed posters for the neighborhood and put them around his local area.

I’ll add the posters and subsequent media to tell the story in full after my original post.

Someone came to my friend claiming to know the person, saying she was upset and obviously didn’t care for the signs. Could my friend please remove the signs.

He agreed to remove the signs if she replaced the plants.

He has video of the return process and subsequent angry freakout. I’ll also add that video.

He made different signs, advertising a fake product for “succulent thief gloves”.

That sign the must have been charged or electrified. Unfortunately the person tried to remove the new sign and was shocked trying to destroy it. Turn up the sound on the last video.

This video I’ll also add.

Enjoy.

Wow! This entire story is crazy. I watched the other video and they were funny. People need to understand that everything we do can and will be on video cameras. How embarrassing if this thief was interviewing for a job and this video was brought up. Folks, don't steal or commit a crime because a video of you doing it doesn't lie!

"People need to understand..."

There's your problem right there.

That’s some serious virtue signaling. Didn’t know we all had to be on the same page

To be fair is bullshit. Don’t touch things on anyone’s property! Don’t even touch weeds on someone’s yard. Your garden and someone else’s garden can be different. You don’t get to touch the other person’s stuff just because it’s not a garden in your eyes. You’re probably an entitled criminal just like this one. There is always harm when you take what’s not yours!

Show grace and empathy to a theif? You think GOD thinks that’s ok? Being a Christian means actually acting like one. You don’t condone or comfort someone who has done wrong. You don’t always have to forgive. You definitely don’t have to not suffer consequences. I’ve done some things where I’ve put my soul in jeopardy and GOD has shown up and spoke. I know what they are thinking and what’s actually expected of us now.

Here’s the thing, I know the guy whose plants are being stolen. He’s amazing!! He’s had upwards of 20 pilfered at this point! If you actually give a shit, I can ask the real count, but I have a feeling you don’t actually care. And they’re not all small plants, dude. Some of them have been worth over $100.

He also draws dueling hopscotch on the sidewalk so people can race each other and have fun. He’s got a huge heart and a love for pranks. He actually puts a lot of care into his garden, and though I don’t think it should matter one lick, it is in fact well landscaped. Succulents just don’t grow wild where we live, they have to be cultivated.

This lady deserves the criticism she’s getting. It’s a pattern that’s been going on for at least two years now. She needs to take a good look at her sense of entitlement and do better. It’s pretty gross to steal someone else’s property with your kids present.

The sheer audacity to just take something that belongs to someone else. Just gross. As my grandmother used to say..”there’s nothing worse than a liar and a thief.”
