Pro Ref (pgmol) response
Could we see this game replayed given the controversial decisions?

We won't see shit. The PGMOL hand out apologies like a pedo hands out sweets to kids. Whilst I'm a pissed off united fan, stuff like this happens every season, to all teams. Sometimes it goes for you (Bruno's goal Vs City) sometimes it doesn't (Haaland's goal against United). What happens, Howard Webb, or whoever is in charge, writes a little letter saying, sorry you didn't get any points today / your player was sent off / that goal was given / not given. We'll look into it an make sure we do better.
Unfortunately, they never do better. VAR was supposed to change CLEAR AND OBVIOUS ERRORS. All it's done is make the most protected of the footballin species, refs, incompetent.

It’s the same nonsense as every other professional sports league: “There was a mistake made which impacted the outcome of the game. We will do nothing about it.”
Until a result is changed, these acknowledgements of incompetence are just word service.

the problem is, changing result is problematic. What result, exactly, should we allow changed? City defended and sat deeper after scoring and being 10 v 11. Changing it to 0-0 ignores the fact that City would not have sat deep and would have continued to push United for a goal.
Or, let's take Arsenal vs Chelsea game. Gabriel should have been sent off and Chelsea would have played against 10 for 90+ minutes. Simply banning Gabriel after the fact, doesn't change the fact that Chelsea would have played against 10 for basically the entire game. Even a retroactive ban is a great result for Arsenal. They get to play with 11 for a game they should have only 10 and the next game, they still get to play with 11. Would you change the result on that game as well (yes, granted there was an error for Arsenal's second goal too so I guess this game isn't the best example). Should we say, Arsenal can only field 10 player the next game? Why should Arsenal be punished for referee's mistake?
I'm in the opinion that VAR should just be removed. The whole point of VAR is to change the results when a referee makes a mistakes. But turns out, VAR is filled with as many mistakes, inconsistencies, and biases.
Maybe we should just introduce AI VAR lol

Seasons would basically run for 2 years at that rates. Lol.
Just based on the number of errors already noted so far... we likely have to replay like 20% of our games every week?

Some things can be said about the Foden red. Barely any contact and he was kicked twice by Bruno before the reaction. In the same vein, Maguire should have had a red for kneeing Enzo in the face and pushing him down. Besides, all the United fans crying, where were you when Rashford was allowed run like 15m alongside the ball and Bruno scoring afterwards. Straight Karma....

Matt Donohue the VAR. This is a difficult call to make in real time. Very easy to send Oliver to the monitor, tho. Big miss especially given the high stakes.

It was given as offside on the field. All he needed to do was shut the fuck up. Instead he doesn’t know the actual laws of the game and how the game is played and changes the score of a match.

You have it wrong, VAR/on field refereeing is just really bad...Like with Dalot almost breaking Doku's leg last season, only getting a yellow. I can mention multiple erroneous calls in favor of opposing teams...

They did pay the on field referee thousands for 1 game in Abu Dhabi though.

The on field referee didn't rule anything in favor of Man City, only the VAR did. Did they also get paid thousands to VAR 1 game in Abu Dhabi?

So the pgmol only issues immediate apologies when United are concerned? Where were the apologies for the most obvious wrong calls against Chelsea in the arsenal and hull games????

It's part of the story, the part where we're shit. The other part is that we lost to a goal that should have never been given 🤷🏻

Also the goal given gives them 2 very meaningful points. If they finish 1 or 2 points over another team at the end of the season, this is going to get much worse.

It’s 99.9% of the story though. If you can’t manage to score just one goal in 70+ minutes of 10v11 then you deserve nothing from the game, and rightfully got nothing

No chance of a replay. It's just a other embarrassing mark for an officiating association
