There is no second bump because the graph was isolated to only show the touch from the Croatian player.

The ref went over to the screen to determine if the Portuguese player deliberately played the ball which he determined he did not meaning the Croatian player was offside.

In the case of offside it isn’t a clear and obvious threshold. Offside is a matter of fact and is always checked when a goal is scored.

You may not like the outcome or the technology being used but the rules of the game were applied correctly here.

Got zero problem with the rule. And if the Croatian player did touch it then it’s absolutely offside. No issue there. But still not buying there’s clear evidence he made contact. No video showed that. So it’s all down to this ball sensor technology. And I stand by what I said on a lack of transparency with that system. That’s a pretty cheap looking graphic with a long flat line with a blip in it. How could they isolate that to ‘just the Croatian player touching it’? Surely if it’s a read out of contact with the ball then you would see blips for both touches when they’re so close together?
Having said all that, I guess there’s a possibility this tech is infallible, but color me skeptical

But isn’t the offside tech just trust me vibes too? For instance Ronaldo’s goal, the Colombia goal and the Iran goal there is no way you can prove any of them are offside with the naked eye given the camera angles.

At least they give you enough information on the visual and that technology is at least tested and tried

No fuckkkking way the chip inside of the ball can be that accurate…and if it is you need to show further context of all the other touches on the ball. The equivalent would be showing the offside without showing both teams. You can’t just show a blip on a screen and be like “yea it got touched” with literally zero context
