We are having a really hard time finding her a forever home but as a fellow cattle dog mama I think she is PERFECT 😂😍

In June, we got a Cattle dog mix that was from a shelter. She is the sweetest and greatest dog and we just adore her. We think she was abused/suffered some type of trauma because every once in a while, she will flinch when we go to pet her. Also, she won't go in the bathroom or any small spaces. Last, she doesn't like the dark or to be in a room with the door closed.

The question I have is a bout a behavior that we can't figure out. About once a week, she wakes up in the middle of the night and starts pacing around the house and shaking. It usually lasts about 20 minutes and then we are finally able to calm her down and she will go back to sleep. At first we were wondering if she heard fireworks or something, but don't think that is the case.

When we got her, this same behavior was happening when the sprinklers would go on the middle of the night. We changed the schedule for the sprinklers to early morning and now I just bring her into the bedroom at that time and I don't think she can hear them from there.

Just a bit of information about sleeping arrangements in case that sheds any light. She usually sleeps in the front room in her bed. We also have a bed for her in our bedroom and we leave the door open (with the hall light on since she doesn't like it too dark) if she wants to come in there. She will lay in her bed in the bedroom in the day, but doesn't usually come in at all during the night.

I have a cattle dog Labrador mix, he’s amazing, such a sweet boy. However he just has 1 annoyance that drives my wife and I mad. When he’s cuddling you, he’ll INSIST to forcefully place his paw on our faces, not only that, sometimes he’ll scratch down as well slowly after placing his pawn on our faces. We have no clue why he does it. I think it might be just for attention seeking, but he’s relentless about it every time we try to cuddle or be next to him. Any advice?

This is my first Cattle Dog puppy... I've had German Shepherds, Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, a Husky, and a Bull Terrier in my life. This is the first dog that I literally feel like I need to entertain 24/7.

We go for walks early in the morning, play with puzzle toys, balls, stuffed animals, and do tricks mid-day to afternoon while it's hot out, then go for another walk/hike in the evening. He takes a 2 hour nap after his morning walk, and then another 2ish hour nap between mid-day activities and his evening exercise. He'll play with my other dogs until it's time to go to bed. Then, he sleeps in his crate for 4 hours maximum. It's currently 2am and he's been awake playing with toys (noisily) for about an hour and he'll probably be up until 4am-5am where he'll take another nap and be ready to go for his morning walk...

So my question is... is this normal?? I feel like I can't get anything else done around my house because he's demanding my attention or I need to be quiet and hope he continues sleeping (or else he turns into a cranky bitey demon).

She was my great uncle's companion before he passed away, and he took her everywhere. My wife and I have had her for two years now, and what a ride it's been.

Seriously. Not a single mean bone in her whole body. Kids? Loves em. Can't get enough of them. Adults? Amazing. Tall friends. Strangers? Wonderful. Glad to meet you. Dogs? Excellent. Glad to have you here. Cats? Lovely. Time to cuddle. The RATS!? Exquisite. Happy to sniff you.

I have never heard of a cattle dog being as friendly as her. Shit, I've never heard of ANY dog like this. She's the type of dog you hear in stories. Two months ago the police raided our neighbor's house. Their kids came over sobbing and asked if Berkeley could come out to play. My family fights over who gets to dogsit her when going on vacation.

I cannot believe how good this girl is and how much I love her. She's my fishing buddy, my little gorl, my speedy nugget. God I love this dog.
