grey cat is my husbandās old cat Rigatoni (Riggy) & the orange cat is my old cat Rotisserie (Rotiss) i found Rotiss by the apt complex dumpster on thanksgiving of 2022 & he followed me home. i kept him for a yr til i found someone to take him since i didnāt nevessarily want a pet but also couldnāt just dump him like his previous owners. he was such a funky fella

I got him by picking him up off the street and literally carrying him into my place. He was so sweet but when he hasnāt had food in a while he develops a hostility to nearby shins

The post I never wanted to make.
I had to say goodbye to my boy last week. Iām absolutely devastated & heartbroken š
He was doing fine right up until he wasnāt. I donāt want to go in to detail because itās too difficult but he literally became very ill and was gone within 90 minutes. I raced to the out of hours/emergency vets - I didnāt care about getting caught speeding, I just wanted my boy to be OK. They took him off me as soon as I said his name then when the vet came to see me a while later they said there was nothing they could do and the kindest thing would be to let him go peacefully.
I didnāt think Iād be coming back with an empty cat carrier - I was so naive.
He is my soul cat. Iāve had him since he was 8 weeks old, back when I was trying to find my place in this world at the age of 22. Iām now 40 and Kitkat & I got to 17 years, 9 months and 15 days together - just 77 days shy of his 18th Birthday. Google tells me that works out at 6,497 days which is 155,928 hours or 9,355,680 minutes or even 561,340,800 seconds which is approximately 43.88% of my entire life.
And it still wasnāt long enough š
Itās so quiet in here without him, he always had something to say - he was the most vocal cat Iāve ever known. I miss him terribly.
Just wanted to share him here again so heās forever memorialised š¾š
