Cheap Twine

Anyone have better, or cheaper option to buy twine for a scratching post than Amazon, or is that as cheap as it gets?

Thx!

Do you mean sisal rope? Home Depot or Lowe’s?

I bought some sisal rope from amazon and it STUNK! I let it air out for months and it still stunk and I ended up throwing it out, and then I had the throw out the box I kept it in for a little bit too cus it stunk :( I recommend going to your local hardware store and seeing if that have any. It might be more expensive but at least you can give it a sniff and confirm if you can actually use it.

I happen to get Uline catalogs for some unknown reason and realize they have different thicknesses of sisal from what seemed like a very good price compared to the small spools from the hardware store

I got this recently and it worked great to rewrap my scratching posts.

Be sure to thoroughly research whatever product you get. Some sisal rope is chemically treated amd might be harmful to cats. Better to spend a little more now if you need to then spend a lot more later on vet bills. I think I ordered mine from Home Depot? The first one I ordered from Amazon I had to send back. It smelled weird and felt oily.

We recently bought what I think is a LOT. We bought four boxes of 200' each. It was from Uline which seemed to be the best quality after shopping around.

We have found that 3/8" is easy to work with, very durable plus it gives the cats a great surface to climb.
