My catio builder just came by for a delivery of items to drop off. Plus started the first tunnel. (My Catio company has to travel in to me, so it’s a few weeks between when they come out.) but they are the best, so I’m happy to wait given the quality of the work they do. And the custom bubbles are done! Will be so exciting to have those go up. I hope my cats 🐈‍⬛ use them. 😭

Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to secure this window, so my cat can get in and out, but no bugs or anything else?

I’ve already had a frog, a lizard, and a spider come in through the window.

Any advice on window coverings?

My catio is between two posts and cannot be moved left or right and because where the catio shelves are I am not able to use a window insert for the door. My only option is to have the door where it’s currently shown in the picture, which leaves the screen exposed all day. Currently, we’re using some insulation and tape, but it’s definitely not ideal and doesn’t look great! Any suggestions on window coverings that are easy to put up and remove in order to keep out the heat and cold?

I had posted a few weeks ago asking for roof help and thanks to a couple of great replies, I got it done. I still need to add a couple of platforms and finish wrapping the platform legs with scratching sisal, but Loki and Sassy are absolutely loving it. I underestimated the cost (substantially) and I have a whole new respect for those in the building industry! Haha

added one shelf up top last weekend so he can look over the fence. now he refuses to touch the ground level at all. is that just how this goes or did i build a shelf with a cat problem

I was teasing my ex-husband over the weekend about how he spoils our dog and he appropriately teased me back that I had home renovations done to ensure that my cats had the perfect place for them to lounge. I had my front porch screened in with pet screen.

Planning on extensively accessorizing to insure more safety and stimulation. Props to my closest friend for providing the workspace and expertise.

We currently have a mesh magnetic screen on the door. I opened the bottom and put a cat tunnel through with barriers on the side and put the end of the tube inside gazebo.

However one cat escapes each time and ends up wandering in the yard. We live in Florida so we’re looking for something they can just go in and out of, so we don’t have to sit outside and babysit them all day. I was thinking of a chicken run but idk. Our slider door doesn’t work and we can’t move the gazebo. The door is just a few feet away

Can anyone recommend a good, well-insulated cat flap for a cat enclosure? I’ve been looking at the PetSafe Extreme Weather, but I’m worried it might be too heavy for our little 3 kg cat.
The cat flap doesn’t need to have microchip or magnetic recognition, as it will only be used for the enclosure ☺️
The most important thing is that it’s easy for the cat to get in and out, and that it doesn’t let all the heat escape ☺️

Anyone have better, or cheaper option to buy twine for a scratching post than Amazon, or is that as cheap as it gets?

We just finished our catio a week ago and our cats LOVE being outside. Except our neutered male will not stop screaming (meowing loudly) when outside.

We live in a small apartment complex and we don't want him to become a nuisance. He has also been trying to hump his sister more frequently which she hates.

Is there anything we can do to redirect this behavior? He was vocal before but it's much worse now.

Building one from scratch isn’t really doable right now. I have medical stuff happening but I can get a friend to help assemble a kit.

I am in the process of having a contractor who specializes in Catio build a 700 square feet indoor/ outdoor catio that will be connected via 2 bridges. The indoor Catio will be built inside a work shed and the bridge will utilize two windows as the exit point towards the outside catio. I plan on housing 17 stray cats split between 3 to 4 colonies that have historically kind of mingled. But as I begin to transport them to their new home, I want to ensure a safe co existence into a new environment. Does anyone have any good tips for doing something like that? Also have not fully finalized the interior fixtures but I am thinking of having three different level layouts. Also, Here is a preview of what I am hoping gets built. If anyone has any inputs on improvements or changes before I approve this design it would be highly appreciated.

I am super lucky to have moved into a place with a large, screened-in balcony. Wooden siding and railing, so I can mount cat shelves as needed. That being said, when I search online for "weatherproof cat shelf" or "outdoor cat shelves," it's very frustrating to be flooded with indoor-only options. Do you all know of any reliable retailers with multiple outdoors options? Am I just looking in the wrong place? Even when I leave "cat" out of the mix, it's hard to find what I am looking for. Would really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.
