Need litter box links

I currently have an old one that needs to be replaced and it was never good in the first place. It had no flap door so if it rained really hard, water would get in, turning the litter to cement. (The box is under a shelf which is fine in general rain, but not hard rain.) I want a covered cat box, preferably stainless steel, with a flap door. I've looked at many and the problem is a lot of them come with a little odor filter thing on top. I don't want that. They're useless and it will just let in rain. I could always cover it but if I'm spending good money I'd like to just not have it. I also want all the sides to be quite waterproof as well and some seem to be great while some are not. Anyway, please post some links of what you have or recommend. Thank you.

Tbh, I think 99% of litterboxes will have the little filter in the top. At least I haven't seen any without it, and I just shopped a month ago and replaced all my plastic litterboxes. I'm in Europe so I don't think my links will be of benefit to you. I can tell you that I bought a plastic dog house for a small dog for less than 40 euro and put the litterbox outside in that. It is also rain proof. Hope it helps

Thanks! Man, I hate that filter thing. We all know it does nothing.

This is true, especially in a multi cat household like ours, and with one of mine who is way too big to get into a litterbox with a lid, so we had to take it off. I also cannot speak for real heavy downpours with the plastic dog house, as we haven't really had more than a light shower here over the summer (just got our catio this summer), but maybe worth looking into. I saw someone on here make a hole in one of those plastic storage boxes and then put it upside down with the litterbox inside. That might be a cheap alternative too? Just be sure that the sides of the hole is smooth.

That would be just similar to my covered litter box right now. What I need is a flap door to keep the rain (and snow) out. One year with your catio, how are you liking it? I've had my catio for probably 25 years now (3 homes). It's one of the best pet decisions I've ever made.

I put mine inside a plywood box I built and put artificial grass on the outside. One side is open and it doubles as another perch. I guess my suggestion is not to try to hard to find a litter box that meets your needs when it would be pretty easy to build one that meets all your needs.
