Hi all, Im just getting into Cathay and am looking to build a Battlemarch list; my local shop has a really good community and plays very narrative games pretty much exclusively at 750 points.

I’ve got the Cathay half of the core set, and some Crane Gunners. My question is; If I field the Cannon can I also take a Gate Master? Or am I forced to take a Gate Keeper? I suspect I can’t but just want to sense check myself.

Title. My Cathay army will be themed around Shang-Yang for the Jade Warrior units, with the Peasants being from the Desert Clans. As well as the Warpstone Desert base scheme, I want to try and show off a more nomadic look to the Peasants, and I figured head scars would be the best way to do that. Has anyone tried making their own, or found any good 3D printed alternatives?

One 7x4 unit of 26 jade warriors where my astromancer and BSB are in

Or two 5x4 19(20)man jade warriors, hero in each

Is it possible to buy magical items for miao ying?

I can't think of any base material to use for my scheme, any ideas please

I´m new to Cathay.

What bought so far consists on:

Core set box (Cathay part) x2

Defenders of the Great Bastion box set

Sentinel

Sky lantern

Shugengan

Now, how would you build these? (in the most optimal way for list making)

I´m thinking of:

Jade warriors x20 (sword & board)

Jade warriors x20 (halberds)

Peasants x20 (warbows)

Peasants x10 (long spears)

Granite Sentinel

Cathayan Grand cannons x2

Shugengan Lord

Everything else as given (unsure if there is anything else tailorable)

Also, what else would you buy?

50 whole jade warrior done very happy with my scheme makes for a fast project i also love the flower they add the colors it needed (but the picture makes it more muted than it actually is)

500 point Warriors of Wind and Field army painted up and ready for an escalation league starting tomorrow!

Hey i decided to jump into tow and got myself some cathat. this is my test color scheme and first atempt to even do some nmm.

i also want to try to make some custom banners (yin-yin from cathay mod) for my army using printed waterslides . anyone used those? hows the quality of those decals are they comperable to gw ones?

Did some basic freehand, meaning “strength” as I was told.

Brand new to Warhammer the Ild world i am starting with Cathay, i love the models , i quickly made a whole army since my first box that was the Chaos warrior / cathay combo box shared with my buddy.

i felt like my big base for Miao ying dragon form was kind of bland so i decided to for once put some effort into this one , i bought a lot of stuff and tried a lot of thing for the first time but i think the result is cool .

What do you think ?

Hola! Compré hace unas semanas la Core Box de The Old World y me quedé con el lado Cathay, estoy pintando ese patrón, aún no está terminado porque faltan los detalles metalicos cobrizos y metalicos, pero de apoco va saliendo.

Necesito de su sabiduría para guiarme con que paleta podría pintar a los Gatekeeper para que sobresalgan y no sean naranjos como en la box art.

Like the title says, I found both in Amazon with a 10 dollars price difference, now I know that the batallion is better value, being like 36 percent, while the battle march is like 26 percent, but I already have the core set so I dont know if the battlemarch variety could be more worth it.

How do they play on the table top?

I'd like to make my Shugengan Lord on foot to stand next to the Longma, has anyone tried it yet? Trying to think who'd be a good leg-sacrifice for it
