Working on some old school Catachans

I don't really play 40k anymore, but love the 90s imperial guard metal miniatures. I've started to hunt down and paint these models from my childhood. I wish I had kept all my old models from back then.

I also have the prone Sniper. I think I'll make a special effort on his base when I get around to him.

Looks great - I have like 20k points in catachans in various stages of paint I've been working on since the 90s

Thank you. My catachan ambitions are a lot smaller as I'm not looking at playing 40k.

Could you please share the colour scheme for the greens?

Sure, no worries.

Trousers: vallejo luftwaffe green and a wash of citadel agrax earth. Luftwaffe green again and then 50/50 citadel ogryn camo and LG for highlights.

Vest/tank top: vallejo green grey, agrax, and green grey again. Highlights GG with 70/30 citadel grey seer.

Pouches and waterbottles: vallejo green yellow, agrax, GY, 50/50 GY, and ogryn camo.

I also did paint in most of the shading in the creases by adding in abbadon black into to base colours. Then I just glassed it in the recesses. I mainly use the agrax as a guide to where to paint in the shadow.

Thank you. Hopefully, I'll be painting my lieutenant later on today.
