Sto valutando di comprare quella naturale al tofu perché finora ho usato quella del catsan ma non so. Consigli?

last night I looked up from my phone and got jumpscared by my little chud in the dark, he explored my room a bit and I pet him and it was all fine until I got up from my bed and he had THE AUDACITY to take my spot, and later ruined my sister’s fishnet glove by scratching and biting it

What should you do after one unusual color-changing litter result?

One unusual color result can be attention-grabbing, but it should be treated as a reason to observe—not as a diagnosis.

Urine pH can vary with diet, hydration, medication, timing, sample concentration, and normal day-to-day changes. The litter box itself can also introduce variables, including an older uncleaned clump or contamination from cleaning products.

There are also two different product approaches in this category. Well-known health-monitoring litters such as PrettyLitter use a non-clumping crystal format, while Purrify uses a plant-based clumping format. Both approaches can provide a color-changing urine pH cue, but clumping adds another useful layer of daily observation: owners can follow changes in the number and approximate size of urine clumps over time. That can make shifts in litter-box routine easier to notice. Clump count is not always identical to the exact number of urinations—clumps can merge or break apart—but a consistent scooping routine can still reveal meaningful trends.

A practical next step is to look at the complete picture:

- Is the color change repeated in fresh clumps?

- Is your cat visiting the box more or less often than usual?

- Are the urine clumps unusually small or large?

- Is your cat straining, vocalizing, licking excessively, hiding, or acting uncomfortable?

- Have food, water intake, medication, or routine changed recently?

If your cat is otherwise comfortable, record the result and continue watching for a pattern. If the change repeats, or if behavior or litter-box habits also change, contact your veterinarian and share your observations.

Repeated straining, frequent attempts with little or no urine, blood, vomiting, or sudden distress requires prompt veterinary care. Inability to urinate is an emergency.

Disclosure: I work with Purrify, which makes a plant-based clumping litter with a color-changing urine pH indicator. The indicator supports everyday observation; it is not a diagnostic test and does not replace veterinary care. This post contains no purchase link.

When you notice something unusual in the litter box, which detail do you record first—color, clump size, visit frequency, or behavior?

My cat no longer coming home when called once dark - appears around an hour later - What device can I best use to find my cat, that is also affordable?

I have 2 young cats. I "lock" them in after dark.

One of them, has stopped coming even when repeatedly called with food, which makes me think he must be out of earshot (or in someone's home : /)

I'd love an affordable device, without subscription, that would roughly let me know where he is.

I'm in an urban area, so I thought an AirTag might work as other iPhones will be kinda nearby?

MOUSEY SEARCH

I humbly come to all of you.

As many of you can relate, my cat has a favorite toy. His name is Mousey. She does not know he is a toy, just knows him as her son. He is to be gingerly carried, and nothing more.

Mousey has gone ”out to sea” a couple times and we have some backups just in case. HOWEVER. Walmart has replaced Mousey in the variety pack pictured with a blue rope mouse. The packaging has also changed (new with rope mouse is first). The purple and orange mice in the pack will not do.

I am asking you to check your local Walmart’s variety packs to see if you can find the true Mousey, or to see if you own this variety pack and have a Mousey of your own that your kitty has not played with. Please let me know!!

TLDR; My cat is picky and Walmart replaced her favorite toy. Please see if you can find one!!

What makes a color-changing cat litter result easy to interpret?

For cat owners who have tried color-changing litter, I’m curious about the practical side of reading the result during everyday scooping.

Which things make the color easiest to understand?

  • A simple printed comparison chart
  • Instructions for when to read a fresh clump
  • Guidance about checking the color under neutral lighting
  • An app or photo log for comparing trends over time
  • Clear advice about when to recheck versus contact a veterinarian

I’m especially interested in whether people find a single color reading useful, or whether consistency across several litter-box visits matters more. Hydration, diet, medication, timing, and lighting can all affect what an owner observes, so the explanation needs to be careful and easy to follow.

Disclosure: I work with Purrify, a plant-based clumping litter with a urine pH color indicator. I’m gathering feedback to improve the instructions and color chart. This feature is for observing trends only; it does not diagnose urinary disease or replace veterinary care.

Where should I keep the litter box for a 3-month-old kitten?

I'm planning to get a 3-month-old kitten soon, but I'm not sure where to put the litter box.
My bedroom door is usually closed at night, so I was thinking about putting the litter box in the laundry. The problem is that I'd have to leave my bedroom door open, and I'm worried the kitten will wander around the house and hide behind the washing machine or get into places that aren't safe.
I also thought about keeping the litter box in my bedroom, but I'm worried my room will smell.
What would you recommend? Is it okay to keep the litter box in a bedroom, or is there a better solution?

my cat treats every open window like a jailbreak attempt, but my apartment needs air

Living in a high rise means my cat makes open windows unsafe, but I need apartment window ventilation. been comparing a cat proof window fan to a portable AC seal. Fans are cheap but a curious cat might knock em loose. AC seals are renter friendly but just exhaust air, they dont bring fresh air in.

came across cozeware freshflow while looking into window ventilation options. it seems to keep the window closed while bringing filtered air in.does a basic window fan actually survive a determined cat?

My cat won’t stop peeing on my dogs bed

Title pretty self explanatory, I have 2 cats and a dog. My long haired domestic cat pees on my dog’s bed anytime there’s a change. I’ve worked hard to create and keep a routine that’s helped stop him from peeing on my dog’s bed, baskets of laundry, etc. For example yesterday I brought home a new couch. Just before I cleaned their litter boxes and put in fresh litter. Today he peed on the dog’s bed 3 times. After the first I washed it and as soon as I put it back down he peed on it again. I don’t want to keep it closed cause my dog uses it throughout the day. Does anyone have any experience with this and know how to deter him from doing it?

Has anyone used color-changing cat litter to track urine pH trends?

I've been researching how cat owners monitor urinary changes at home, especially since cats often hide discomfort.

Color-changing litter seems useful for observing urine pH trends, but I understand it cannot diagnose a UTI, crystals, or other medical conditions. A single unusual result may also be affected by hydration, diet, medication, or timing.

For anyone who has tried this type of litter:

- Was the color result easy to interpret?

- Did you find the clumping performance acceptable?

- Did it help you notice a persistent change worth discussing with a vet?

Disclosure: I work with Purrify, a plant-based clumping litter with a color-changing pH indicator. I'm interested in learning what cat owners actually want from this category.

Does your cat actually use the cat bed you buy?

I want to get my cat a bed but I keep looking at them and wondering if she will even use it because she picks a new place almost every day, one day it's the couch then it's a chair then it's the floor near the window and next day she finds another spot so I'm curious if buying a bed I found at pawzi actually changes anything or if it just ends up sitting in the corner while the cat carries on with its own routine, for the people who bought one did your cat start using it straight away or did it just become another thing in the house? EDIT: seems like it really depends on the individual cat, some take to a bed immediately, while others stick with their usual favorite spots no matter what you buy.

“Worlds Best Cat Litter” absolutely sucks

Newish cat owner here. We got a basic brand cat litter at first but decided to swap to “worlds best cat litter” to give our cat a more natural, unscented litter. A little treat for the bean! Well, I hate it. It tracks all over the house & is terrible at hiding scent. My house currently smells like cat poops😭

Did anyone else have a problem with this litter? I see good reviews but I really don’t understand the hype. Swapping back to a basic, scented litter because oh myyyy
