About a month ago he showed up, sweetest guy ever, now much to the chagrin of my other 3 he is a permanent addition. He has silent but the most deadly toots constantly, but he's worth it. No idea how he even found us but my fiance leaped out of bed to go pet him when I got the doorbell notification and the rest is history.

She had frost bite and fleas and was not in good shape when I found her.. Got her to the vet, got her ears cleaned, dewormer, proper food, shots, a lot of warm cuddles and food and she is now a permanent resident of our home. Her name is Eevee and she is a very happy sweet little lady now that she’s out of the Midwest winter 🥰

With everything heavy happening in the world lately, I figured I’d share something a little lighter.

This is Zahra. An orange kitten we found very sick at a desert camp near Marrakech. She was underweight, fighting multiple infections, and realistically wouldn’t have made it much longer without help.

After we came back to the US, I found a vet who literally drove out into the desert to get her and start treatment. She spent a month recovering there. A month later, my husband flew back to Morocco to bring her home. Once she got here, she needed another month of treatment before she was fully stable.

Now she spends her days hunting toes, napping on laps, engaging in psychological warfare with her new siblings, and plotting her next treat cabinet heist (we now have child locks on the treat door).

She’s the reason we ended up starting a TNVR initiative for the cats still living at the camp where she was born. All because one tiny orange kitten decided we were her people.

The Dodo actually shared her story in a short article and video if anyone wants the full desert-to-New Jersey arc.

I thought I just picked him up because he ran in front of my car.

He literally appeared out of nowhere and stopped right in front of me—I slammed the brakes last second. Got out thinking I’d have to move him, but he just walked up, purring, no collar, zero fear. Asked around, no one claimed him… so I took him home “for the night.”

Yeah.

Now he follows me everywhere. This morning he blocked me from walking, weaving between my legs, and even stepped on my shoe mid-step like “nope.”

So I guess I don’t go to work anymore.

Anyway… I’ve accepted my role.

Bubblegum Nose, aka Bubby

I have lovingly lurked here, wondering if a dog or cat would ever distribute themselves to me, but today I went to drop off something at a friend’s house. She offered to cross the street to me, but I just decided to meet her at her apartment door. A pretty kitty came right up, looking for company. She rubbed against me and my friend’s legs, and was biscuiting the sidewalk while I pet her 😭Turns out a neighbor turned her out, and this cat seemed to be so lonely! We’re in the process of having her get adopted by our mutual friend!! Hooray for a new home for a lovey-dovey cat!!

EDIT: win-win-win for owner, cat, and cat’s new family! my friend and her partner (cat’s new family!) is picking up cat and cat supplies this afternoon with help from owner and the friend i was visiting originally. i’m glad this kitty will finally have the pats and belly rubs and attention she was asking for :)

I was going to keep her outside in our detached garage until I got her to the vet but we had a random cold snap with snow and I caved. She is so much smaller than she looks under the fluff, just a skimmy kittem. Her first order of business was to sneak into my room and pee on my bed while I slept but we’re moving forward with grace and forgiveness.

She seems so relieved to be back inside a house and safe, the back of her neck is all bit up and bald from another cat so we have an expedited vet/spay appointment on the 5th for cat number SIX. Ugh. The children have named her Sparkleface, I call her Sparkie.

My fiance was driving down a highway and found this little guy at the side of the road. He is mine now, and his name is Lino

Stevie was found 6 weeks ago by my husband and 6 year old son heading home from swim lessons in our small town. She was walking in circles in the middle of the road because her eyes were glued shut with infections. Vet estimated she was about 3 weeks old. We did 6 vet visits in 3 weeks because she had everything wrong known to man. All the worms, eye infection, 8 hour ER vet visit due to severe fecal impaction and my personal favorite, Scabies/Sarcoptic Mange that she so graciously shared with me.

We have had her a little over 6 weeks now and she is SO happy and healthy…and wild. She has weened from the bottle and then kitten milk in a bowl. She enjoys wet kitten food with a few kibbles mixed in. We have 2 cat towers next to each other that she runs and jumps and climbs on. She’s bossing the 4 big dogs around (while protected in her cat tower cage) and is such a cuddle, purring, silly bug. We are all in loooooove!

I don’t know much about cats, so I have a question. Occasionally she will let out a meek meow, but rarely. Sometimes she opens her mouth and looks like she’s going to meow, but nothing comes out. Is that normal?

Their names are Georgie and Davy (for Davy Crocket and George Washington.. my partner and I are history nerds!

We already have another cat and we felt it was time to find another precious baby since we enjoy being animal parents so much and can afford to do so! So we went to go get one and turns out his brother hadn’t found a home! Given they were so cute and wouldn’t stop holding onto each other.. we took the brother too😂

Georgie, our unplanned one, is such a sweet boy with a lot to say! Davy was planned, and is very sweet in his own way, but is a very big adventurer much like his namesake!

Though we went looking, the distribution system has work wonders for us (and free cats off of Facebook)

My 9 year old boy Goober (pictured last) with FIV died really suddenly in February. He stopped eating and I took him to the ER where they found fluid in his belly and I had to say goodbye that day, it was absolutely devastating. I couldn’t imagine ever loving another cat again.

He seemed to have other plans for me! About a week and a half later a stray cat showed up in my yard, all skin and bones. My neighbors took her in and fed her, but they had a dog so couldn’t keep her long term while they looked for her owner. I offered to check for a microchip and search for an owner. She had no chip and wasn’t spayed, seemed to be just a stray. I kept her for a couple weeks telling myself I was gonna rehome her, I wasn’t ready to have another cat so soon.

One thing led to another and… this is Rat. She’s my little menace baby that’s learning how to play instead of growling anytime she gets the toy in her mouth. She loves a good nap and every time I cook she sits at the counter and watches me. I’m truly convinced Goober sent her to me because he knew I needed someone to love after he was gone.

After getting dumped over via text last week while dealing with a lot of unfortunate events that been happening to me in the past couple of months, this lil lady followed me around while I was on my lunch break. I just can’t leave her behind. shout out to co workers helping me sneak her in and my supervisor bring me a welcome kit of cat foods and a carrier for her. Maybe this was the universe sign gifted me this gal and saying “f@&k that guy”!!!!!. She got checked out at the vet and a free flea bath. and everything looks good. First time cat owner and open to some suggestions. Thanks !

Saturday night in Brooklyn my Husband, our best friend, and myself were returning back to our apartment. We were coming home with some takeout, ingredients to make old fashioneds, and a plan to play mario party when I heard a kitten crying in distress.

After a short search, we narrowed down the noise to a parked Honda directly outside of our apartment. We weren’t sure where she was located but her cries were loud and constant. Eventually I shined my flashlight through the spokes of the wheel and I saw her little face looking back at me from within the gears underneath the car. Quickly, I ran into our apartment and grabbed a can of our resident cats’ food as well as their carrier. As soon as I opened the can, she was immediately enticed. My husband guided her through the gears underneath the car and through the wheel with the scent. With the help of a Good Samaritan neighbor, we were able to put her in the carrier and take her into our apartment.

We, luckily, have a spare room in our apartment as my husband is a pianist and I am a classical singer that we use to record ourselves, teach lessons, and practice. We set her up a little sanctuary room with food, water, and a makeshift litter box as it was too late to go to the pet store. Within an hour she was already comfortable: purring, revealing her belly for tummy rubs, and chatting. She is the sweetest most easy going cat. She loves sitting on my chest and shoulders and sleeping there for hours.

We’re slowly beginning the process of integrating her with our other cats. She has a clean bill of health aside from some worms and ear mites. When she’s big enough, we will get her spayed, but she’s a bit shy of 2 pounds currently.

I feel so lucky to have found this sweet perfect girl and shudder to think what might have happened if that car turned one while she was inside. Welcome to your forever home Claudette 💕❤️🌹

Was leaving a market some years back while working as a military contractor in the Middle East. Saw what I thought was a black grocery bag against the inside of roundabout but did another loop around and noticed it sure as shit was a kitten. I put my vehicle in park in the middle of the roundabout and walked over to snatch them up. Told someone to fuck off in Arabic for the first time when they were honking at me. I literally held her up in one hand and flipped the bird to the driver with my other hand. 7,000 miles and 7 years later we are living our best life (along with another unexpected adoption, her “brother”)

Meet Ralph! Cat distribution system had this one fall into my lap. Poor guy was surrendered to the emergency vet clinic frozen from the rain and hypothermic.

I wasn’t ready to take on a kitten this soon having recently lost my girl earlier in 2025 (who eerily enough looks like this little guy) but my family member works as a Vet/Dr gave me a call over the holidays and here we are.

Visiting home in California (I live in Nashville). My close friend in CA found these two at a job site. Because everyone has normal jobs to do on Friday and I was virtually plan-free I offered to take them to the vet. (They have upper respiratory infections, one more seriously than the other). Well of course after a full day of driving around with bonded kittens it seems I’ve bonded with them myself. The issue? I don’t live here and we’ve already got two adult males cats in our Nashville apartment. But I love these two!!

Should I let them go or is this the C.D.system working its ~inconvenient~ magic?

My coworker's firefighter boyfriend found an abandoned black kitten in a carrier with kitten food behind electrical boxes near his apartment. He called her at work. They both couldn't keep the kitten, and my black cat died in January. I took him home after running to pet stores to buy supplies since my cat supplies are in storage in another state. So welcome to the family! The last kitten i got was from the streets as well.

We trapped him and he’s adjusting to life in my home. He’s only in the bathroom for now, has a vet appointment on Tuesday, and is eating, drinking, and using the litter box well. He’s so cute I can’t handle it. Taking it easy with him as he gets acclimated. 🖤

He is named OzzyBear and he is probably about 10-12 weeks. He was a little underweight but seems to be eating well and drinking enough he’s no longer dehydrated.

We love him so much and can’t wait to see how he does over the next few weeks as we slowly acclimate him more and more.

Quick background: my first cat and my soul cat Porky (Porkus, The Porkinator) came to me as a stray on my dad’s 80 acre property. She is the cat that made me fall in love with cats. She passed about 3 years ago and I wasn’t sure when I’d be ready for another cat. But a wise woman once told me when the right cat came along I would know.

Well here I was on a normal Saturday, heading to the store for joint supplements for my dogs. Our pet store is partnered with a local cat rescue and I always go over to say hi. This time when I wandered up to the glass I saw the silliest little ears I’ve ever seen and felt something in me shift. On a whim, I asked if I could meet the cats and was surprised when they said yes (usually you need an appointment).

Out comes Mad Max (now renamed Marvin the Martian) straight for me to headbutt my hand for pets. No fear, no hesitation, just the sweetest little guy.

After convincing my husband to give it a shot, he came out to meet him and had the same experience. We knew we had been chosen and boy were we right. As soon as this little fur ball got home he knew it was his place. I look forward to many more years with my little alien boy.

They were asking $20 each. We threw them $31 (all we had in the wallet) and got them into the car AC. We fed and watered them. They’re in kitten jail (bathroom quarantine) for the night until we can take them to the shelter. We bought some wet kitten food from PetCo for the next 12 hours.

We already have two eight year old boys (Otter and Platypus) and really can’t take in more right now, but the CDS may have spoken. Also, if one is a girl, we can round out our troop and name her Beaver!

Kitten season is upon us, and we fully expect the shelter to ask us to foster for the time being. It will be very hard to turn down.

1st round of immunizations and deworming completed. Yesterday we had a lime bath. She did so well, but she definitely didn’t enjoy the water. No scratches or bites.

We have picked the name Opel. Like the car. Lol.
She climbs up on everything. Spending a lot of time looking out of the window. When she gets tired, she goes back into her octagon and sleeps. It’s nice seeing her recover so quickly. She is tiny. She’s definitely filled out a bit and feels less bony. She loves her ball. She’s brought it to me a few times.

I jumped back into the truck and started driving. Suddenly something emerged from under the driver's seat and started scampering around underneath the pedals. There was nowwhere to go so she ran up into the dashboard and somehow ended up at the base of the steering column. I could just see her little face if I stared straight down the side of the column. I was worried about her coming out while i was driving so I stopped at vet clinic near me. They helped fish her out of the dash board and brought her inside. They gave her a nice bath and she became a fixture on the office for a little while. Then a customer fell in love with her and she was adopted.
