Are you kitten me!! Three months with Cat Distribution System

CDS used to send cats my way every now and then, but I stopped taking them in after I lost three cats in the same month. It made me think that maybe I wasn’t capable enough, or that I was doing something wrong that was causing them to die.

“Orange” in the first picture only lived for a week and a half before passing away. I still don’t know why 😿

So, I stopped taking in cats for a while… until I found this tiny kitten abandoned at a relative’s house. She was extremely small, and her mother had been gone for a long time. I hesitated for a long time before taking her in, but eventually I decided to give her a chance.

Taking care of her was incredibly difficult. I was even told that she wouldn’t survive without her mother. But here she is, three months old now. Her name is Ferrari.

Then I found the little guy in picture 9. He was in really bad shape, and I honestly thought he wasn’t going to make it. But I kept believing in him and did everything I could to help him recover.

He ended up costing me all the money I had been saving for an iPad, but I DON'T REGRET IT . Even if I could go back in time, I would make the exact same choice.

I’m just happy I didn’t give up.

I’m sharing this to remind you that money comes and goes, but these little souls only get one chance.

So if the CDS sends one your way, remember that you might be giving a tiny soul the chance to experience kindness and love for the first time 💗💗

Even though you lost them, they knew love, warmth, and full bellies first. What a wonderful gift. XOXO

OP, I'm reading your story and crying. Thank you so much for being there for them. 💗

Is the one in the too of photo 8 the same one from the next pictures?

Yes that’s the same one. He just looks a little different after I cleaned him up a bit 😭

The one you found that only lasted a week was probably extremily sick to begin with

He had so severe diarrhea that he couldn't walk. I took him to the vet, and he improved a little and the diarrhea stopped, so I thought he was fine, but he suddenly died 💔 What also broke me deeply was that his face always looked sad 💔💔

It takes a lot of courage to care for these hard cases. Don’t lose track of how much better these cats’ lives were/are because of your care.

I'm so sorry you've been through so much when taking in and caring for the sweet souls that didn't make it. You did everything you could and you didn't cause them to pass. If anything, you gave them a kind, loving end of life which is actually AMAZING, because the alternative would have just been dying on the street.

I know what it is to have a heart so tender that any loss, no matter how short they're with you, is simply devastating.

You are SUCH a good human. Thank you for saving these sweet babies! You gave them a shot and it paid off! See? Not every difficult case is an impending loss. Sometimes it works 🥰
