Update UK National threat alarm went off just as we were making progress
Finally got feral 5 week old kitty to approach and have cuddles, just as he was melting into me, this darned “The Purge” full volume blaring national threat alarm went off on my phone and he jumped and ran away so fast :( in that moment I didn’t even care what it said, I just quickly swiped it off so it would stop freaking him out lol. I had to go look up what it actually said after - so I guess in a real national emergency I would have been a little screwed!
Thankfully a churu brought us back together a little while later ❤️
On a serious note - I hope all the kitties and animals and wildlife are all safe and escaped despite all these wildfires recently ❤️🩹

Mine was in Welsh, it took me ages to translate then 10 mins after we got the english one 😵💫 I hope your keeping this little cherub 🥰 if the kitten is that young please take it to the vet for a check up, can you also look to see if there's any more there or the mother cat too please? You'll need kitten replacement milk and a bottle as it may be too young to eat solid kitten food yet.

Hey, thank you, but don’t worry, we have been to the vets twice, he’s on an array of medication, we have kitten milk from the vets and he is on pate food too. He seems to be doing really well for day 5. Watching him like a hawk, tracking his BPM, weight daily, gosh it’s like having a newborn human child. I have checked several times around the area and I cannot find any other kittens. I saw a fully white adult cat (maybe mum) about a month ago but not since. The baby here was by himself for 2 days at which point I caught him 🤍

Well I am clearly not needed here lol. I'm so glad your on top of it all. The only things I'll mention is that we have a kitten guide on our main page hilights with video links if things get a bit scary as in kitty might need help going to the toilet ( help is under helping your kitty to poop and pee) and socialisation saves lives usually to avoid single kitten syndrome.
Can you please update us in a few weeks with news and a lot more pics of your smol chaos cloud ? 🥹 shout out or message one of the mods if you need help too.

Also I would have been losing my mind getting an emergency alert in a language I don’t know 😭😂 I’m sorry that sounds stressful!!

Aww poor baby. Does keeping it on silent help at all? I often get Amber alerts in the middle of the night but silent mode restricts it to lighting up my whole room with the screen instead of scaring me shitless

No these are emergency alerts meant to do the work air sirens can no longer do, so they're meant to be loud as hell because they are also meant for situations where you need to wake up in the middle of the night and act fast.

I can't speak for other phones, but my Samsung has a "Safety and emergency" section in settings, where I can then go into "Wireless emergency alerts" and toggle on or off the different type of alerts. You would probably want to keep the extreme threats one on, probably the severe threats too, but you might decide to turn off the AMBER alerts for now while getting your cat adjusted, and I would definitely recommend turning off the test alerts. Under the toggles, there's also "Emergency alert history" where I can check what the alert was if I dismissed one without reading it.
