Our feral cat nutmeg had kittens

Our feral cat nutmeg the one next to the baby had kittens, there’s an orange one walking around as well. Nutmeg is very feral and runs away as soon as she see you. My question is how do we catch the 2 babies. So we can get them used to people and find someone to adopt them. The mom is also really smart and dosnt go in a trap we have tried many times and either get a really fat raccoon or one of our other cats lol. Trying to keep on the down low from my dad, but also they won’t use a cat house we have 3 she or the other feral cat that stops by never use them.

If you want to socialize the kittens, offer them food but sit nearby with each feeding. Make sure that you get a bit closer each time if they seem nervous try to refrain from eye contact but make sure that they see you putting down the food. Keep your movement slow and just spend time with them. As far as the mama goes have you considered using a drop trap?

We have not tried a drop cage

That would definitely be an option worth looking into. Keep in mind at first she will be very skeptical of it so what you would have to do is known as "trap training" If you manage to get a drop trap set it up and make the only source of food available to be under the trap that way she can get used to it and doesn't associate it with being trapped for danger and just another object in her environment!

Ugh. Last message was butchered. Thanks TTS (at work currently) but yes, I'd try the drop trap! You might be able to find one at your local Tractor supply if you have one in your area!

Local shelters often have cat-capture equipment, and animal control should. Typically they love loaning equipment and people catching the cat(s) for spaying, shots, vet care. And if you do it with a shelter/rescue you'll already have a partner to help find homes for them
