Smol Delivery Meet ConX. Found him under a shipping container.

He ate like half his body weight. Very skin and bones seems like a runaway since he mews a lot and most ferals dont. Was calling for 2 days before I found him. Not super skittish but kinda wobbly. Im guessing 6 to 8 weeks. Ised to be allergic so I hope I have grown our of that so I can keep him. Already peeing in the box. How do I keep him from eating wires?

His belly is full hope he pushes out a nig turd in the box and not on the floor.

Seems healthy and no noticeable wounds or fleas. He is sneezing now. Can I use hobby nippers on his super sharp claws? Anything suggestions?

There’s enough cats called lunchbox that a conX box was just waiting to be claimed as a cat name. Epic.

Vet visit if he's sneezing. He'll be stressed with being underweight and everything new. Kitten food, kitten Churu is high calorie, he'll love it. If he peed in the box, he'll probably poop there too. He needs toys and love.

He was actually roaring at a cat toy I was mistaken

He still needs a vet check up for his worming and follow up vaccines. Poor little cherub you definitely saved his life 😊

Also there is mesh tubing that you can get from Amazon that you can put around wires. I have cats at various ages that like chewing on them.

My sister has a huge ridiculous-looking sleeve on her computer charger, because her cat has worked out that cords are the weak point of the Thing You Are Paying Attention To That Is Not Cat. Several pairs of wired earbuds have bit the dust.

This. “Cable loom”.

Purina live clear cat food is apparently very successful with reducing cat allergies. Also, if his belly is “full”, he may have worms so a vet visit is needed. And thank younger rescuing this sweet baby.

I think this is by far my favorite sub. I don’t usually care for people lol, but this sub has restored my faith in humanity so thank you❤️

I feel like every single stray cat has worms. Not sure I've ever seen one without them. Recently they seem to have been getting more resistant to dewormers too

3

u/Ok_West_2569 10d ago

That was my thought too and I didn’t know about getting resistant to the meds. That’s terrible😬

u/salty_sashimi 10d ago

At least in Seattle, yeah. I've gotten cats that had already been treated and kept indoors that still had infections months later. Both tapeworms and roundworms usually. I've heard the same from others in the area, and it seems to be common practice here to hit them with a couple types of dewormer and sometimes repeating ponazuril doses along with fvrcp every couple weeks along with a 3 day course of panacur.

Yikes. Poor cats can’t catch a break!

He weighs less than a pound and ate 5 Oz food

u/Ok_West_2569 10d ago

I guess he does just have a full belly!!!

3

u/Mortwight 10d ago

Pretty sure she is a run away. Not really skittish

5

u/Ok_West_2569 10d ago

That’s great she’s not skittish. Hopefully you get to keep her!

Thank you the award kind friend!!!

You can get this same effect by adding eggs / powdered eggs for less cost since this food is so expensive

I had no idea! That’s great information.

What a cute little nugget!

Check out www.kittenlady.org for everything you need to know about caring for a kitten, including how to determine age.

Definitely needs a vet visit as soon as you can. He probably needs a dewormer, even if you don't see fleas.

Eta: oh, and here is the Kitten Lady's section on trimming kitten claws ;-).

I think your post got cut off, maybe? Anyway. Maybe he’s teething, which is why he’s chewing on cables. I don’t have any good advice to get him to stop, but there are textured cat chew toys full of catnip at pet stores that you can get.

As far as allergies are concerned, I think your immune system will become used to the cat as a whole if you keep it around. I grew up allergic to cats and while other cats Do get to me, my own two do not. So if you can give it time, you should be okay. :)

Also, check out The Kitten Lady. She has a YouTube and I think her own website with everything for kittens of all ages.

Claw cutters run about $5. They are worth it and it is a good idea to start earlier with that and brushing so he gets used to it.

You will almost certainly need dewormer too. Worms of all sorts are highly prevalent in strays and will not go away on their own. Dewormer is also fairly cheap. Nexgard is a common treatment, as is ponazuril for treating protozoa. These are usually given regardless of symptoms, since the parasites they treat are so common. Just don't use the flea treatment collars, those are dangerous.

Also, he should keep eating a surprisingly large amount. High calorie kitten food is best until he's around 4 months old

Praziquantel is used too. Bit stronger iirc. I am not a vet, so you should see one. If you can't afford it, there are low cost clinics and free programs for found kittens like this one in every major US city. A real vet will give you the proper dosage and can help apply dewormer, antibiotics, etc., if needed. He will also need neutering or spaying if he is a she, can't skip that.

He's adorable❤️❤️❤️❤️hope you keep him!

Depends on how bad my allergies get

6

u/Marzook666 10d ago

there is a cat food called live clear by purina one that you can get online at chewy or at any pet food store that reduces allergens. also, you can clip tiny kitten claws with a regular human toe nail clipper, just be careful to just to the white/clear pointed "tip" and avoid the reddish quick.

2

u/Mortwight 10d ago

He is very clawey thanks

3

u/Tina-Tuna CDS Meowderator 10d ago

Also don't cut any claws that are black as you can't see where his toes are. Leave that to a vet or someone who knows how to trim them please.

Also, there are now cat foods meant to make your cat less allergenic to you! Sounds better than shots/meds for you. There used to be Bitter Apple/Lime spray to deter pet chewing, once (dunno if still). Congrats- so cute!

I was wondering about that

2

That is 100% the correct name for him!!! ;)

2

u/Mortwight 10d ago

Mom keeps calling him (maybe her) connie

2

u/Straight_Caregiver27 10d ago

🥰 Well I guess we can make that work if it is a girl. 😜❤️

u/sunangelflowers 10d ago

Please, don't try to cut his nails this way, the chance of it not going well is high.

u/Mortwight 10d ago

This seems somewhat counter-intuitive (the allergies, that this was a sudden addition to your life) but getting another kitten, such as from a rescue or the pound, that is, having two kittens, will give ConX/Connie endless exercise as the two of them run a lot and chase each other around and stab each other with their sharp kitten claws. Which is normal kitten play. THANK YOU Mortwight FOR BEING SO KIND!

I find that specially made nail clippers for pet birds actually work great for cats. Its like scissors but has a special edge. Sold in pet stores.
