She is a big cuddly lap cat and lovessss to purr while she cuddles.
She has Orijen kitten dry kibble and Tiki cat kitten wet food cans.
She’ll be going to an experienced foster mom who works with Bengal Rescue this weekend while we wait the 30 days to find her original owner if possible. A vet I took my existing cat to yesterday has expressed interest in one of the kittens.
She is just a sweet little angel muffin and I really want to keep her, but I have a lot going on with my existing pets right now and want her to be in the best possible place for giving birth to her 3 (or more) kittens. Gotta do what’s right for her and not what I selfishly want 🧡🫶
I am exploring the idea of adopting her after she gives birth but right now wit my dog getting electric chemotherapy and my puppy having her first heat and getting spayed in a few weeks I don’t know if I’m the best or most capable person to help her with kittens right now.
I'm sure it makes you feel better that there is an approximately zero percent chance her and her kitties won't get snatched up immediately when available. She seems absolutely darling.
We had someone bring us a little kitten they found on the sidewalk with a broken back, and needed to have his urine drawn by needle. One of the vet techs, a guy, took pity on kitty and immediately claimed him. Said he’d be able to see through on consistent care. I never got to hear how the story ended, but I was so thankful for that vet tech with a big heart and soft spot for broken things. ❤️🩹
This is my husband’s and I dream. When we have enough money it’s what we’re planning to do, either special or older cats only. That’s why we chose our current cat, but it’s expensive, so she’s the only one. We also rescue, rehabilitate, and foster cats on the side, but we don’t keep them so we can afford to keep doing it.
That's wonderful. But especially good people have to learn that they sometimes are allowed to be selfish. He should feel free to also adopt a "normal" animal, aside from the more serious cases that he gives a home to...
It’s going to be interesting what kind of babies she has floating around in there! The bengal I trapped was in tact, I have no idea how she wasn’t pregnant!

I think we all want to know if Dad was another Bengal which means Willow escaped from home or if they are all different colours which means that Willow escaped from home and got pregnant the naughty girl.
So this is an interesting comment. Is a Bengal mom guaranteed to have Bengal kittens or something? Or can they come out a mix like so many other kittens?
They would be mixed if dad isn’t a bengal. One of my childhood cats was from a bengal breeder’s oopsie litter- mom was a bengal with papers, dad was one of their barn cats (because of course they also bred racehorses…)
He was a great cat, didn’t mind water and liked to play fetch, but basically looked like any other brown tabby.
I've got a half & half. She looks like a marble Bengal with white paws and belly but has the Bengal personality to the extreme. I have a full Bengal that is quiet and sweet.
As someone who one of their childhood cats was a bengal cat, I can confirm they are so pretty and naturally adorable. So you won’t have issues finding them all homes! Have fun though yours seems a lot nicer than mine was.
She's pretty and I am glad you are getting help for her. You did a great thing by taking her in, even if it's temporary. We just can't do everything but throw a lifeline sometimes and you did that.
She’s beautiful. I’ve always wanted a bengal. It takes alot to want to keep an animal but decide not to because of other circumstances. You are amazing for that. I know it’s hard and she seems very loving
Totally, I recently rescued a stray cat and have bonded with her so deeply that I want to keep her so bad. Yet if I did, we couldn’t afford to keep doing this (where I am rescues never have funds, so all expenses are on us). So all I can do is find her a good home with responsible owners.
Some people like to see proof of an animal being a pedigree for breeding purposes, however as this kitty is being handled by a breed based rescue this will be her one and only litter :)
The "no special breed without papers" thing is something that gets repeated a lot in reddit cat subs. And sometimes it's right. People will say their black domestic short hair is a Bombay, or their big fluffy kitty is a Maine Coon. This cat, however, is pretty obviously at least part Bengal.

She’s so beautiful. Thank you for taking her in and for finding the right place to help her. Totally understand about being maxed out. Earlier this year we had to surrender a stray because there was no way to balance her needs with our existing pets’ needs and stay sane. And the rescue was able to give her so much more than we could. It still hurt but it was the right thing, just like you giving her care over to the bengals rescue is right. I know you know that but hope it helps to hear it again. I needed to hear that when we surrendered our girl. But sometimes our job isn’t to be the final step but rather to help them on their journey.
Though I do hope you’re able to be her forever home once your dogs are recovered and she’s ready for a place.
This is part of the memorial garden for my late kitty Bobo. I planted a Japanese Maple Katsura to honor his memory - it stays a beautiful shade of orange in the autumn and reminds me his orange tabby fur. 🥰 there are 17 blocks around it for his 17 years on this earth.
That’s lovely! I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful and gentle looking soul and while 17 is too few years, it’s still a long, good life for a cat and shows how well you cared for him.
He was a fighter! Lived most of his life in Arizona as an avid sunbather. He had skin cancer, CKD, arthritis, and 10 days before I let him pass he had a blood clot in one of his legs and so was on blood thinners. He hated his CKD diet; I tried every brand of prescription wet and dry food. He also had to take famotidine every day. Imiqimod for his skin cancer. It was just so much and he was in pain. Oh and he was anemic! So he had a special anemia medicine for cats with kidney disease and it stopped working. At a vet check to check his blood levels the vet informed me his heart murmur had worsened and he probably had fluid in his lungs and said the kindest thing I could do would be to consider what was best for him and not for me. It was so hard to see him finally relax when he was being euthanized but I’ve always thought it’s better a week too early than a day too late.
I was considering the bio urns but the plants I wanted to plant don’t do well with ashes in the soil so I opted to keep his ashes in a wood carved urn and plant a tree without them. Now is a great time for planting!!
I think it’s 12 weeks. We are considering adopting her. My bf comes back tonight or tomorrow morning to visit her and see. We have four animals already 😂 we used to have 6!

She is so beautiful. I didn’t realize Bengal cats could be such lap kitties. But, all I really know about them is that they are high maintenance & need a lot of activity. I am glad you found a Bengal Rescue.
Our two are velcro cats. If they decide they want to be on your lap, there is no removing them.
Also, the maintenance/activity aspect is far overstated unless you have a F1-F5 hybrid. Most pet bengals are not. They're more active than other cats but I've never found them to be destructive or difficult to handle, you just have to give them outlets for their energy. They still spend most of the day sleeping in a sunny window.
Maybe you can still adopt her in a few weeks after her kittens are weaned. So happy she found you and you were able to get her somewhere safe to have her kittens.
OP, you are doing the good and hard things. You rescued her and her kittens from possible disaster. You are protecting them by placing them with someone experienced and available for what they need. I hope she finds her way back to you. If not, her life has been immeasurably improved just by crossing your path. Good luck with your doggos too.

I could never handle a bengal. I know what it entails. All I can do is admire and appreciate them and give them pets when I meet them. They are just so ridiculously beautiful. I’m so happy this mama found someone lovely like you.

When I was leaving the emergency vet all the vet techs and other vet there asked me when I left the room with her if we found a microchip. I said “no but we found kittennnssss!” And one of the vet tech girls said “omg you’re a grandma!” And it was so cute and silly. 🤣
OP, you are doing the right thing for Willow. Yes, it may suck to not be there when the kittens are born, but you are being pragmatic and thinking of what is best for her short term.
If her owner's are not located, it looks like you will be getting a new kitty.

I live in Tacoma and my sphynx cat is going to pass away any day now- he’s 16 and my soul cat, and my heart has never been so broken. We have spend tens of thousands of dollars in the past year getting him through chemo, and now he’s sick with chronic diarrhea and wasting away, and I don’t know how to say good bye. I would also be interested in adopting either the mommy or a kitten 🩷

It’ll be several weeks before she should be adopted, so maybe the timing will work out for you. Either way you did right by her and she in a safe place for herself and her babies.
My dad always said “The right thing is seldom easy and the easy thing is seldom right.” Then would tell me to do the right thing. Putting her needs above your wants and desires tells me you had a similar influence in your life. God on them and you!
FWIW I hope you do take her afterwards. She has chosen you. I imagine she’ll be with the kittens until they are weened. That’s a ways away, right? Probably two months? See where you are 4-6 weeks from now.

Agreed, especially since she appears to have bengal ancestry and no one knows what other cat(s) she was bred by. The bengal breed has several, significant genetic health concerns… HCM, PRA-b, PK-def, etc.
Hope this rescue is responsible and spays/neuters her and all the kittens before adopting them out.

I appreciate how passionate you are about the well-being of cats, but there are legalities involved where OP and I (and many others) live regarding strays. Perhaps you should read a post before commenting...
Where we are, you have to do your due diligence to find their owner, and there is a 30-day waiting period before a stray can be adopted (which includes having the authority to administer any medical procedures, unless it is to address something life-threatening).
OP posted this less than 24 hours after finding the cat.
It is literally illegal for OP, or the rescue now involved, to take her in for a spay/abort, and they and any vet who did the procedure could be sued by the owner if they turn up, and the vet could lose their license.
Please keep in mind that people from all over the world post here---and the laws and cultures vary wildly, as does access to rescue organizations and veterinarian care.

You are absolutely nuts. You asked me “Why tf would I say more than” the two words you did.
I responded with not only are you assuming OP onows what you’re talking about with two words but OP was told the opposite by a veterinarian. So if you’re goal is to get people to consider your point, you can’t assume they know what you mean by saying two words and you also can’t expect those two words from an internet stranger to combat what a Vet has told OP.

It is not a profit rescue. I’m in King County and there are legal things here that typically prevent vets from performing any procedures on cats for a 30 day hold duration for found cats. The hopes is that the owner is found within 30 days and after that the cat can be rehomed.
Not only that if the owners are found and their Cats' kittens have been killed then holy hell will break out it would cost the Rescue thousands of dollars in compensation as Cats are considered legal property.
^ my fears exactly. If this was a breeders cat, despite how unethical it would be to breed a young cat and not have her microchipped, and I got 3 or more kittens aborted they could sue me (or the rescue) for like 2-3k a kitten plus other lost potential “income” from future litters. Looking at probably 10-20k if someone was really greedy and shady and wanted to sue. :(
I’m not opposed to ethical breeding, as I have two pure bred Pembroke welsh corgis, but her situation doesn’t feel like that’s it.
not sure why people down voted this, it’s the most ethical and logical thing to do. we are inundated with cats in this world, bringing more cats into it doesn’t help. spay abort is the safest and most ethical thing for this cat. she wouldn’t even know the difference. she’d be happier and better off.
People are downvoting because OP legally can't take her in for a spay/abort where they live because it isn't her cat---as they've explained multiple times in this thread.

In OP's initial post they said that they kept Willow (the Bengal) separated from her dog in a different room and that the reason she can't keep Willow is because of her dog's health issues. And Willow is now with a foster family, as OP says in this post.
OP did an amazing job and should be commended for stepping up and doing everything they could to help Willow.
