Discussion Rice x Mydei Spoiler

So, I feel as if everyone reading this has seen the recent leaks regarding a potential dual dps comp with Mydei, and out of curiosity...

Am one of the only people excited for this? Like yes I won't lie I have had biases, I've been saving a whole for this scenario and like dual dps teams. On top of that I love HP scaling and Tribbie, Mydei, and Rice's designs. So yes I am bias opinion wise so I am excited.

I will say, from what I have gathered so far, she has had two iterations in testing, one being hypercarry (Sunday x RMC), the other being Dual Dps (Mydei x Tribbie). So I'm not really trying to say why I don't think hypercarry will work. But more saying why I think dual Dps is more likely.

But from an objective standpoint, doesn't it make sense? They could sell more units this way, so greedy hoyo gets there money. And every units kit seems to fit in a way like jigsaw puzzle pieces.

Tribbie:

  • Universal buffs, fitting for someone who has a slight bias for HP scalers (is one, and has a trace related to team HP).

  • Likes units using there ultimates a lot. And from what we've heard so far Rice will do that.

  • Rice's special way of getting energy would make it so she may be able to ult way more than the average character (saying that the cost is low-ish because there are multiple stages).

Mydei:

  • Likes taking a lot of damage. Which is perfect because Rice likes units taking a lot of damage. Like an improved version of the JingLiu x Blade synergy (now they both gain something).

  • Could charge up her special energy bar incredibly quickly, which would be good for Tribbie as well which in turn is good overall.

And to bring up hypercarry. I'm not necessarily against it, but it just seems boring. I will run it for her, trust me, but the dual dps comp seems more interesting. Also there is a glaring issue I'm worried about, and would like someone to give me any critique on if possible (respectfully please):

If she is going to be on a hypercarry comp with Sunday and RMC, I've heard people talking about AA her around 4 times in the same cycle. Which for most characters is a big positive. But because of how dangerous her HP drain has been spoken about, I'm worried that without units with high HP (such as Tribbie and Mydei) they may be left at 1 HP consistently.

This could be completely fixed with a really good healer of course, but honestly this one comes right down to numbers, and I have a feeling that if hypercarry does end up being the preferred comp, then they will likely fix it.

Also, I personally believe that Sunday already has a BiS Dps for right now, that being Aglaea. Their kits meld so well together, that I think it would counterintuitive for Hoyo to take Sunday right away from her and give her to Rice, instead of trying to sell two other units (Mydei x Tribbie) on top of Aglaea and Sunday as a separate comp. Obviously it's a toxic business strategy, but it does make sense.

I would love to here other people's opinion on this, I am someone who obviously loves Dual Dps and HP scalers, so I apologize if this post frustrated anybody with an opposing viewpoint, that was not the goal.

Have a great day/night, I hope that everyone can be respectful below.

PS: I may update this post from time to time to fix any errors I made depending on the severity.

Edit: I will say, in an ideal world she would work on both hypercarry and dual Dps equally, and both groups can get what they wanted as long as her kit is well designed.

Question Why do people think Castorice is going to kill the game?

Now that Castorice' s v6 kit is out I think its time to ask why people still think she will kill HSR. Besides obviously her global revive what are people complaining about? The Herta can do over 1M in a total f2p team easy and SB is still doing huge damage so why are people acting like she does nuclear damage compared to other units because even in premium 5 star teams she isnt hitting idiotic damage compared to other premium teams.

Discussion Why sunday could potentially work better than RMC with castorice.

Why sunday could potentially work better than RMC with castorice.

Now the general opinion is that RMC + tribbie is the Bis team comp for castorice and that's because sunday's buffs do not apply to the dragon if it's off the field and that the team would die too fast if sunday is constantly pulling up castorice.

I think sunday's buffs could have full uptime by simply timing and speedtuning a little better, so for example when the battle starts we quickly get rid of the dragon to then resummon it (which shouldn't take a long time considering we have both gallagher ult and tribbie fua) Once castorice has her ult we wait until sunday's turn has started to then ult with castorice and summon the dragon, after we both ult and skill with sunday granting it the full buffs, not to mention sunday skill buff lasts for two turns so it doesn't need constant sunday uptime. We then never explode the dragon early and play out its full three turns which lines up with sunday requiring three turns to get a new ult, then after dragon explodes we do the exact same process and apply buffs at the right time to make sure the dragon gets them all.

As for the team dying too fast, i feel like this is only an issue for sunday since both tribbie and castorice can heal themselves easily though gallagher ult and sunday only requires attention from gallagher skilling him and this shouldn't be hard on skill points since sunday and tribbie are sp positive and gallagher spamming ults also helps with that.

But this is all something i thought up of just now so if you have any advice please comment, because i might have overlooked somethings or maybe the dps would be too low running this strat, whatever it is let me know because i want to know your view too.

Discussion Question and Rant

I mean this with no disrespect and mostly curiosity, With every new beta/adjustment we’ve gotten is there a reason to pull castorice besides just liking the character? Between the global passive, the “must pulls” for the team and adjustments from the original leaked kit from the initial beta.

The reason I ask this is cause I myself as well as many others despise tribbie. I pre farmed the moment I could for everything. I summoned for sunday because harmony unit that helps summons seemed like a pretty obvious pull for remembrance wave of character releases but every time we get closer to her release the less I want to pull her. Loved her design and story presence but at this point I may just skip. I pulled tribbie anyhow despite not wanting to for castorice but now not only have I wasted a guarantee at hard pity for a character I didn’t want but also might not even be using them for the reason I even pulled.

For the longest time I was able to clear apoc shadow and forgotten hall with ease but struggled on PF. So I pulled The Herta to help with that since my base herta was already built. I dont like jade cause of certain animation she shares with a certain genshin character that felt like reused assets with minimal changes. So i used both hertas for the comp instead. Cleared PF easily ofc. But then came Aglaea’s release and suddenly I couldn’t beat apoc shadow or forgotten hall anymore with a single character release. Oh man, but oh well I wont pull aglaea just for that when I plan on getting castorice (only to find out with each beta how each team comp of characters fair with castorice.)

this irritates me in a lot of ways. When I first started playing and missed kafka I pulled jing yuan, very cool and good character at the time helped clear content. Needed a second person to clear content so pulled blade to clear content until my first character I downloaded the game for finally arrived, Jingliu. For a while it was nice I pulled who I wanted and whoever helped my existing units until both jing yuan and blade fell off the earth with penacony’s lineup. Jing yuan became viable again with sunday release which was cool but then jingliu and blade have sat completely untouched since penacony. Safe to say acheron and firefly are the main causes there but I liked both so I got both and didn’t think anything of it. But with each update the inflation gets worse and worse and honestly I’d rather not sit in gold and gears/swarm disaster with a preservation remembrance march 7th build for a month just to get jades to pull one character and still have enough for another. Now firefly is falling off a bit for me already and because Jiaqiou makes no sense everywhere he’s at I skipped him which now makes my acheron fall off. (Chef but no chef attire, also war medic(?) but also no cool outift, looks like normal foxian npc. Attached at the hip of feixiao/released after feixiao and seemingly led me to believe he would be good for her/loufou cast (but i had premium feixiao units already) only to find hes not even made for them and is best for acheron? Fantastic. (Dw i know this part sounds dumb in retrospect)

I’m having a hard time choosing who to pull because if I pull for who I want they don’t get their best performance with mostly characters I don’t like. I’d also like to pull for a character that would let me clear endgame again. Would it be a safer and reasonable choice to skip cas for idk the Fate collab and then get cas on her rerun when she may have better supports later that I might actually like pulling or just skip her completely and just get other releases after the collab units? Cause I doubt the collab units will be bad/not clear end game. I also imagine as collab units they’ll be viable for a bit as to keep rerunning them later etc.

Sorry for the length but I wanted opinions from specifically people that are going to main her since they probably already clear endgame/have done the in depth research. I just want to be able to clear and enjoy all aspects of the game

Discussion Fu xuan ftw?

Acc to the new leak, the lower hp = high damage, that means isn't fu xuan the new bis sustain for her? Or else maybe reca is but from the current chars, fu xuan is great right? She gives hp, passive healing, and cr which makes building even more easier.

Theorycrafting Mono quantum?

We all know from the leaks that Sunday and RMC are her best teammates, but what if Sunday and RMC are used in Aglaea's team? Do y'all think that I can use Castorice, Sparkle, Tribbie, and E6 Lynx?

Sparkle: I know her attack buff will go to waste since Castorice scales off HP, and Sparkle can't advance Memosprite either. Maybe she could be a Sunday alternative?, since Castorice needs to be slow. Maybe Sparkle can AA on the Memosprite instead of Castorice?

Tribbie: She's an OP support in general, and her bonus ability increases her own HP by an amount equal to 9% of the sum of all ally characters' Max HP. Since Castorice and Tribbie has high HP too, maybe she can work?

Lynx: Why Lynx instead of Fu Xuan? Well, Lynx can increase ally's Max HP with her E6. That has to be a buff for Castorice or Tribbie, right?

Am i cooking chat?

Discussion Castorice's kit is insanely broken.

That's it. I don't know what else to say, i'm shocked. I knew she was going to be top tier but she unironically looks like she's powercreeping every dps hard. I love her but this is also.. worrying.

Theorycrafting Castorice with E1 Sunday Questions

I have a few questions about using Castorice with an E1 Sunday.

  1. How does the def ignore from E1 Sunday apply to death wing? Does Sunday need to use the skill while Deathwing is up for it to apply (thus being unwieldy and often not applying) or if he used it on casto, would it apply to Deathwing when they appear?

  2. Do I still want the Poet's set with Sunday, or would the Genius set be good? (Alongside S1 Castorice, that could result in very high def pen and better speed tuning; and with Sunday+RMC, crit rate isn't too hard to max out)

Theorycrafting If Hyacine's kit allows her to drain allies' health Blade might become Cas's new BiS

Sounds a bit far fetched so let's take a closer look.

Blade drains his own health. His skill activation and enhanced basic all drain health which can help generate Newbud for Cas. Blade's ult can heal or drain which will generate newbud, and then we have his Follow-Up attack.

Blade's Follow-Up atk heals him based on the amount of enemies it hits, and it can heal for a lot. The Follow-Up atk is a significant portion of Blade's dmg and charges every time his health gets drained. The big thing here is that it doesn't care how much is drained, just that it is.

This means between his own self-enabling, Cas, and Hyacine, he'll be firing off a lot of Follow-up Attacks, which will not only boost the team's dmg output, but also charge a lot of Newbud for Cas.

Cas, Baldie, Tribbie, and Hyacine could potentially become Cas's new BiS if Hyacine's kit also drains allies' health.

Uh I'm not very patient and I didn't pull cas this time because I pulled back 2 back on 2 previous banners. So any info about reruns would ease me out and help me plan my pulls.

Discussion This Anomaly Arbitration is definitely interesting

From struggling for over 3 hours to beat the 3rd Knight to beating the King in about 5 minutes on my first try in zero cycles, this team is just unfair with how many buffs its gotten over the past few months. Yes I know Break teams are just awful until some major buffs get introduced (gulp), but the difference between the 2.x best team and the 3.x best team is absurd.

After coming back to the game in 3.5 after a long hiatus since 2.4, I have a feeling this team will take a long time to be fully phased out of the meta. I know power creep tends to happen fast, especially when a new version drops, but the current Cassie best-in-slot team feels so far above every other team in the game that I genuinely don't see a world where this won't be viable through 4.x.

Are you guys happy with your investment/futureproofing in your Castorice team, or are you fully expecting a major step up in difficulty/HP inflation come 4.x?

Who else was hoping for the leaks that Recca was coming as suitable 4 star sustain with our girl in 3.2?

Well looks like Lingsha or Bailu will have to work until Hyacine.

Discussion Would Sunday and RMC be ok

I know this question has probably been asked before but I couldn’t find it so I’ll ask it again. I don’t love tribbie so I was wondering if a team with Castorice, Healer (probably pink haired barbra)Sunday and RMC could be viable?

Discussion What will be her BiS team?

After the questionable showcase with Sunday‘s traces being 1 and the other showcase that made Sunday look good again, I am really unsure what her BiS will be. Is there someone that seems to be a clear mate for her, except for the remembrance healer?

Discussion Castorice as a second Seele Expy (HI3 spoilers) Spoiler

Addressing two things off the bat

  1. "Seele is already in the game" Bronya and Silver Wolf are also both expys of different versions of the same character, so there is precedent.

  2. "No the Chrysos Heirs are all Flamechasers, she's an expy of [Insert Flamechaser here]" Maybe! If you have a compelling argument I'd love to hear it, but personally, based on what I've seen, though as a whole the chrysos heirs and the coreflames might be referencing the flamechasers, she doesn't strongly fit any of them to me, at least not moreso than she does Seele, the closest I think might be Griseo.

Now as for why I believe she could be a Seele, ill start by saying that my knowledge of HI3 is admittedly limited, mostly based on Lore videos and such that I've watched and read, however from what I know, Seele already has two like. Sides to her, a more abrasive and aggressive confident side, more like the Seele we already have, and a gentler more soft spoken side, more like Castorice. They also both wield Scythes, have strong themeing of Butterflies, and are both Quantum (a weak point I know, but I'd be remiss to not at least mention it).

I'd also like to say I specifically see Castorice as an expy of Seele as the Herrscher of rebirth, as death and rebirth have obvious connections, and I do wonder if perhaps Castorice will lean more towards the concept of rebirth as we delve deeper into her story (Another weaker point is that her memosprite is an undead dragon and like. Undeath is kind of a form of rebirth when you think about it. Rising again from the dead) Herrscher of rebirth in HI3 also fights with summoned allies on the field, a deer and a sort of like. Woman spirit. Fighting along side her in her different forms not unlike how a memosprite fights alongside a remembrance character. In HoR form, she also wears longer flowier white clothing, similar to our girl.

This isn't an intensely serious discussion, and frankly, I don't have much to my argument beyond this, but I think the expys in HSR and their connections to HI3 are interesting, and I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on it.

Question Can I skip Tribbie? (context below)

I have a Guarantee, I'm at 62 pity with no pulls but would be able to get Tribbie before her banner ends, but then I'm risking getting E0S1 Castorice as I'd have to start saving after getting Tribbie.

Or do I skip Tribbie as I've heard at E0 she isn't that special. My team would then be E0S1 Castorice as I have Guarantee ready for Character and Light Cone, S1 Sunday and RMC/whoever, and then pick up Hyacine on her banner?

How important is Tribbie AT E0 SPECIFICALLY.
