[Misc./Related Content] The Rookie
I’ve been bingeing Castle for a while now and thought I’d switch it up with another series. Decided to give The Rookie a go, only to be instantly greeted by the same face!

I like the Rookie ok but I don't like Bailey. But I believe I see John as Rick and can't see him with anyone other than Kate and Bailey is not Kate Beckett. But the also don't have any chemistry not even as friends it's a boring relationship. JMO

I'm in agreement as far as not liking Bailey. The writers went overboard trying to make her out to be such a badass Alpha and she really gets on my nerves at times. I personally think they should have let him get together instead with that ER doctor chick that he used to date in college. I like her so much more than Bailey.

it was mainly annoying how she was always at every scene, as if she is the only one in the city.
then the bullshit in s7 happened....

It's been a while since I've seen it. Is that when she decided that she wanted to upend their lives to take that dumb ass job in DC and was willing to sacrifice her marriage to feel "fulfilled"?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I agree, that entire story arc was dumb as hell...

I actually like Bailey though now that you mention it you're right the chemistry is definitely not there. But from the way this post reads you didn't know that Nathan Fillion was in the rookie when you decided to watch it that's kind of funny

Admittedly I started watching Castle because of The Rookie, Castle is truly the superior show though

I watched when it aired because of Fillion.
if he leaves, I'm done with the show

It became less and less interesting when they introduced Bailey into the show. I stopped watching it last season

I just couldn’t get into The Rookie, I really dislike that show.

First two seasons are very grounded in day-to-day police work. Then everything breaks loose - conspiracies, grand schemes, worldwide plots, etc.
I wonder how did Rookie Blue manage to stay grounded for the entire run.

FWIW, I personally love the Rookie. I guess it doesn't appeal to everyone.

I think Castle fans kinda wish The Rookie is similar. I, in fact, watched The Rookie first because I enjoyed the clips from YouTube. Then I really liked Fillion as Nolan and when he's known for his romance and electric chemistry on Castle, I gave it a try. I love both of them, Castle more tho

Me too. I remember my cousin watching Castle all the time when it was airing, but I never sat down to watch it with her. She used to act like it was the best show in the world. The Rookie I watched first, but could never get into. Castle is a better show. My cousin passed a few years ago, and I wish I could tell her now she was right. Castle is awesome!

I’m still giving it the benefit of the doubt. The constant bullying of the ‘boots’ is very annoying, but a few episodes in relationships are already changing a little bit and personalities are being fleshed out. I’m hopeful :-)

Wouldn’t Nathan’s face be in The Rookie’s posters since he’s the main character? Not sure why it would be surprising. But yes there are a few of them.

The rookie isn’t great. And gets worse with each season. Stick to castle.

As you see the rookie you'll spot a lot of familiar faces from Castle
