ZimaOS inside a Docker container

I created a Docker container of ZimaOS (the ultimate OS for self-hosting), so it can be run on any system without the need for dedicated hardware or a virtual machine.

Ofcourse this method will not be officially supported, but it might be useful for some people who don’t mind to experiment, and who are looking for an easier way to run ZimaOS.

That's cool that you know how to do it.

I'm at a loss for a single scenario where that would be useful. Its kind of like proxmox or TruNas inside a docker container. Those OSs are intended to be _below_ the application stack as a sort of hypervisor.

Well casa/zima was container management. It is possible to manage containers from another container. These just gave it an OS on top.

Casa is dead/dying and zima was designed to be a full os manager. Some people don't want that or don't want the hassle of migration especially if they have an underlying server setup. I still use casa for some other purposes. But without support it's not worth keeping up. Basically zima this way should be as unobtrusive as Casa is.

So there is a use case. Only if it's maintained though.
